Pretty good SS location. But the cashier messed up my order. I asked for a chicken sandwich plain. They gave me a sandwich with mayo, lettuce and everything on it. Also, the wait time for the initial mess up took 45 minutes. This is with 12 people working in the kitchen and 4 customers. Strange how chick fil a can push 50+ customers every 20 mins but shake shake cant handle 4 people in 45 mins.
Burger was dry and burned meat with an odd tasting spice that leaves a bad aftertaste. I think this is how shake shack makes burgers in NJ too. If management is reading this, Red Robin has the gold standard for absolute best burgers ever made. Juicy and flavorful with a delicious bun. Match RRs burgers and you will have a 5 star rating from me.
Fries were good.
Chicken sandwich was good, but not as good as cfa, popeyes or wendys. About equal with mcd's.
Iced tea was good. Better than mcd's, but not as good as Red Robins raspberry tea.
Prices are way too high especially for burned dry burgers. For less than this price i can get a much tastier meal at Red Robin, Burger King, or Boston Market. Our meal today came to more than $60 for 4 meals with 3 drinks.
Restroom was nasty with wet pee on floor, used surgical gloves on floor, dried pee on toilet seat, dirty toilet paper on floor, dirty diaper paper left on changing table. But it was a lot cleaner than a public port-q-potty.
Caution! If you eat in the outside dinning area using the back exit, the door will lock on you and trap you outside with the only way back inside will be through the front door. Also, if u eat in the outside dinning area, random pedestrians will walk through the seating area as a shortcut to walk around the block. This is dangerous since i saw 4 homeless panhandlers/drug addicts loitering in this area asking for money while people are sitting and eating. Not sure if there are theft crimes here, but probably safer to eat inside.
Pros: Pretty good chicken sandwich Lots of seating inside Lots of employees Plastic straws (plant based, way better than paper) Fries and buns are tasty Iced tea is ok Free water
Cons: Way too expensive for what u get Super slow food prep time, especially given they have 12 plus working the kitchen Disgusting dirty restroom Back door to outdoor dinning locks u out Unsafe outdoor dinning Homeless/panhandlers/addicts loitering Burgers are burnt and dry w/bad aftertaste Absolutely no free parking and good luck finding any parking available nearby Cashier messed up my simple order (plain - it means nothing but meat and bread.. he put everything on it) Cashier also messed up 2 other customer orders while i was waiting 45 mins...
Read moreHello all, I paused my day to write this review. I wanted to share my overall pleasant experience I had over the holiday weekend (Labor Day).
In the DMV area, many of us tend to be super busy, therefore, spending time with family and friends needs to be scheduled. I have a friend who lives in VA, while I live in MD. We needed to catch up. Therefore, we settled on meeting up in the DC area because it was pretty much mid point for both of us. Moreover, he chose Shake Shack restaurant. I wasn't that familiar with their food nor their menu. The first time I had ever been to one was in NYC/Manhattan, NY. But I didn't remember my experience.
My friend was running late. We scheduled our meet up to be at 1:30pm. I showed up ON TIME. He sent me a text to say he would be arriving around 02:10pm. I showed up with an appetite. Meanwhile, that wait allowed me time to browse the menu. Now, to the moment we've been waiting for. There was no need to speak to any of the staff, they had self check in/out computer pads to place your order. However, when I did speak to the staff, there were friendly and helpful. I asked if I could place my order and sit outside, and the rep said, "sure, I'll come out to find you when you after you place your order." I waited until 02:10 and then I placed my order. Since I wasn't too familiar with this restaurant, I decided to keep it simple and order the Shackburger and their Strawberry Lemonade. I also chose to sit outside because it was a lovely day. While waiting on my friend, I decided to people watch and listen to music on my Spotify App.
My order arrived. (My friend still hasn't showed up. Argh! I couldn't let the food get cold. The appearance of the burger had nothing to do with perfection as McDonald's hamburger, it was clearly an "amateur way" of preparing a burger. I don't mean this in a negative way. I'm just saying that Shake Shack doesn't operate in the same way, however, it was clear that everything requested was visible. I thoroughly enjoyed the fresh, and hot burger. It had a nice juicy, taste as well. The Strawberry Lemonade was also great! It took me no time to finish my burger. In fact, I forgot about my friend while eating my burger. I received a text from my friend around a 02:30pm claiming that his new ETA was 02:45 pm.
At this point, there's no need to go into what happened when he FINALLY arrived. All that's needed to be said is that I enjoyed my experience and plan to...
Read moreI was left quite disappointed by my experience a few days ago. While I understand it was close to closing time and there was a noticeable influx of customers during the last 15 minutes, I still expected a higher level of service and order accuracy. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case.
Here are the key issues I encountered: Incorrect Order: My burger was missing lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, which are standard and should have been included. Small Drink Issue: My drink was filled 3/4 with ice, leaving very little actual beverage. Water Availability: The restaurant was out of bottled still water, and the “triple-filtered” water provided was warm and smelled strongly of chlorine, making it undrinkable. Locked Doors and Service: After placing my order, I stepped out briefly to purchase bottled water from a nearby CVS. Upon returning, the door was locked despite several customers and fulfilled orders being inside, including mine. I was only able to retrieve my food because another customer opened the door for me. When I approached the counter, however, the associate yelled that the restaurant was closed, which felt unprofessional and unwelcoming.
I was really looking forward to this visit since it had been quite some time since I last dined at Shake Shack, but this experience left me questioning the value of the food and service. I will note that the truffle fries were excellent, and I appreciated that they were...
