WE WERE NEARLY ASSUALTED BY A STAFF TONIGHT here’s the story: If I could I would put zero stars for this place. I just had a horrible experience at players club. I was playing pool with my sister and my brother and this worker with one blue eye came up to me and says “you’re sister is beautiful damn” and I say “ahhh ahaha it’s a shame she has a boyfriend”… fast forward 10 minutes he catches me for vaping and he comes up to me to say that this is not allowed (I don’t think anything of this nor do I let anyone in my group know that this is a rule) fast forward 20ish minutes he goes up to my sister (who he had just hit on to me) and kicks her out for vaping (mean while the rule is a one time catch policy — so you get one warning then ur out… my sister never got a warning)… so me and my brother complain to him because we think it’s unfair… and I say “you were the one hitting on my sister and it’s pretty weird that your kicking her out without no warning“
So then we leave the bar and my brother decides to talk to the bouncer about their vaping policy because he felt like we were targeted based on the circumstances. ALL OF A SUDDEN OUT OF NO WHERE this guy, who kicked us out, comes out of the bar and starts screaming at my brother and gets up into his face (taking off his jacket like he’s about to beat him up) and I put myself in between them but then we decide to walk about because we were scared.
I feel that me and my brother were very close to being assaulted by this worker…
I WOULD LIKE TO CLARIFY THIS WORKER HAD ONE ONE BLUE EYE, A DURAG ON, HAD SHORT LOCKS, AND WAS WORKING BY THE POOL TABLES ON THURSDAY NIGHT DECEMBER 28TH.
So if you’d like to go and experience a bar that puts people at risk I would recommend this place. Other than that I would never set foot in this bar without risking your...
Read moreI truly wanted to love the Players club. You descend from street level to what feels like a cool underground secret spot. The retro 70's theme is done well and the place LOOKS amazing, and I would give it a much better rating if I was reviewing it as a sports bar. they have lots of tvs and a great looking bar. But it was billed as an arcade.....and as an arcade it is severely lacking. First of all, most of the machines will not accept quarters. Not because the machines can't take them, but because the establishment has disabled the coin slots in favor of a "bills only" system which I found to be quite annoying. The selection of the games was very limited, with only 4 pinball machines (two of them badly needing servicing with their flippers malfunctioning), roughly 5-7 cabinets, side by side basketball, bubble hockey, and a badly roughed up foosball table. There were also a few pool tables and a photo booth (if you feel like spending 5 dollars for a photo strip). Honestly, all the prices set for the games are fairly steep, with all pinball set at a dollar a play. All in all, it is an amazing idea that is poorly executed. But if you're looking to grab a few beers, watch the game, and maybe kill some time in between periods with a game or two, this is a decent enough place to go. They do also have a nice space to hold a party should you want, and the staff are very very...
Read moreI went with friends to the Players Club in DC last winter, a month after learning I'm on the autism spectrum. I was overwhelmed by the experience of this adult arcade party, but impressed by the level of sheer sensory overload the mgmt created - and I've been to many loud, crowded, raucous shows.
The place is dark - but it's filled with thousands of tiny lights - everywhere, not just on the hundreds of flashy, noisy arcade games. The space is big - and it was packed with milling socializing people constantly brushing against each other, giving off body heat and smells. The music is really loud - and the din is amplified by hundreds of voices all talking at the same time over the music.
The crowd was mostly drunk college kids having fun playing the games and hooking up. Verbal communication is difficult; patrons must rely heavily on body language and social cues to connect, still a mystery to me after a half-century of living as a human.
I thought several times I'd have to ditch my friends and go outside, but by breathing and relaxing I gradually desensitized somewhat. I was exhausted by the time my friends were ready to go, and I have no desire to return, but i'll never forget my educational experience. I'm amazed but not surprised at how...
