When I first walked in, my impressions of the restaurant were that it was well maintained and cleaned. The decor was aesthetically pleasing with a modern look juxtaposed with an industrial vibe from the brick and corroded iron veneer. The bathroom was sleek and clean was well. I walked out of the restroom back into the dimly lit ambiance ready to browse the menu and order. After opening the menu from the QR code, I noticed that Jinya offers a huge selection of foods such as fusion appetizers and meals like chashu rice bowls. I went ahead and ordered a classic tonkotsu ramen with no toppings with a side of takoyaki. I waited a while for the food to arrive--on the long side for a ramen restaurant, but was excited to see that the food looked exactly it was on the online menu. Jinya did a good job on the presentation. The ajitama (egg) and the chashu slices were perfect. Slightly chilled with a melt-in-your-mouth umami feel. After finishing these, I was left wishing for more flavors and textures as there were only noodles and broth left. Though at a perfectly cooked al dente and flavorful, I wish I ordered bamboo shoots or otherwise to combat the monotonous onslaught of noodles. I could not justify ordering more toppings as its base price was already at a premium of $20. I couldn't help but to remember the fully loaded ramen bowls for roughly half the cost in the Little Tokyo district of LA. I polish off the bowl by slurping the broth. Bold, but not pungent. In the end, I thought the portioning seemed rather small even with the takoyaki (best I have ever had in terms of flavor and presentation). Had I ordered toppings to accompany the ramen bowl, perhaps the portioning would have been adequate. All in all, well done in terms of quality, but the portioning was rather small and left me wanting more. I will definitely come back again.

A few moments after our food was delivered, I had to sit back in my chair and remind myself to breathe. Within the first few bites this ramen had become more important to me than oxygen. Much like a backyard barbecue with a millionaire, Jinya Ramen toes the line between casual and upscale. Their wine/beer list is small, but each choice is delicious. Their cocktails are simple, but fun and as such happy hour is not to be missed. The decor feels cosy and intimate, but not so dark that it feels clandestine and not so loud that it feels like a club. You can easily sit and talk with someone without screaming across the table. Larger booths offer a family feeling for groups dining together and if you're alone you can enjoy a place at the bar with a convivial staff flowing in and out to take care of your every need. Our server, Min (sp?) was absolutely wonderful, never missing a beat whether it came to bringing us our order quickly or simply checking in. She was friendly and attentive without hovering, an impressive feat considering the rush of other customers present when we came in. I am so disappointed to be only passing through as this is the kind of place that is best enjoyed over and over as a regular comfort, perhaps as a comforting dinner after a long week at the office or as a brief weekday respite during lunchtime. I will remember this meal for a long time. The depth of flavor and how each element complimented the others, the way the fried chicken remained crisp and delicious even after soaking in flavorful broth on one side, these are memories I will savor and hope to someday experience again. If you're in the area, whether you're looking for some comfort food, some ambiance, some ingenuity or some just plain good food, this is the place for you.

Came during happy hour which we were greeted at the host stand and told there was no tables but bar is open which is fine so we sat at bar and started browsing the menu. They got us started on food & drinks, which came out fairly quick. I was a little shocked but I had to order water, normally servers just fill your empty glass when you sit down while looking at the menu. I also ordered a lychee-tini which contained no alcohol or if any a drop, I was thinking of ordering another drink but when I expressed how I wasn’t happy with my first drink the bartender just said ok and then came back to show me the soju which apparently was in my drink. Its to be said you won’t taste the alcohol in a well made drink but every single time I order a lychee tini I can at least detect alcohol and this time my drink tasted like juice only so I ended up paying $10 for an unsatisfying drink. We also ordered mini tacos & ramen. The food was delicious & quickly brought out. Staff was friendly tho and bathrooms were clean which was nice. Also the happy hour isn’t worth it but I do enjoy the food and my friend does as well. Pretty expensive for a happy hour. When we were leaving the restaurant the host said farewells to their 2 coworkers and nothing to us as we were all leaving out around the same time, which they also didn’t bother holding the door open even when tho we were right behind them. How do you not acknowledge paying customers leaving a restaurant that wasn’t even busy at all?? Not a ‘have a nice day’ or ‘thanks for dining with us’.. this place has very interesting service. I don’t have Jinya in my city so whenever I’m around one I love visiting but idk I could’ve gotten better customer service at 7/11.
