My boyfriend surprised me with beautifully decorated chocolates from here for my birthday, and they were so amazing that I was compelled to find them on Google to leave them a review!!! He ordered a random assortment and only instructed them to not put caramel in the box. The message was to say, "Happy Birthday, Ladybug" (his pet name for me). They followed his instructions exactly, and in the center of the assortment, was a truffle painted like a ladybug, called a Ladybug Praline!!! Not only that, but my bf is English and I noticed they added a truffle called "London Fog" which tasted like a very mild tea and was absolutely delicious!!!! I just loved that they took the time to be so thoughtful!!! 🥰 And the chocolate itself... I mean we did just come back from Iceland, and WOW!!! I thought I had been spoiled and would not like American chocolates again for a long time, but these chocolates, though they tasted differently, the quality was on par with the best chocolates I've ever had in my life!!! That's including many European chocolates!!! THIS is now my new go-to when I need to give a unique gift... or just want to indulge myself, because WOW!!! This place is amazing!!! LOVE IT!!!!

I’ve been to right many chocolate shops and this one was just okay. They did have a decent selection. I always look to see if they have Icelandic chocolate bars and this place did. I took my time and selected a few items. I was surprised at my total but good chocolate is a little pricey. I enjoyed the curry coconut truffle and the lavender caramel chocolate. The other ones were kind of blah. The espresso bar was very tasty and the intense 95% dark with ginger was complex and truly unique. Loved it. Haven’t touched the pyramid yet but plan to next weekend. Staff member was friendly.

Amazing chocolate choices from around the world make this shop very unique. The staff are super knowledgeable and take time with each customer. The merchandise is over priced or at least more costly than one would expect. Asking for a good dark chocolate bar without being too costly the sales associate offer us two bars at $10 and $12. These were modest sized. The one we bought was amazing but perhaps some more approachable wares might be worth adding. Great chocolate doesn’t have to be crazy expensive. The variety and shop set up was very clean and well organized.

I am not a chocolate connoisseur by any means but my boyfriend and I were visiting DC last year in late Summer/early fall and wanted something to bring back with us for ourselves and for family and friends. I ended up getting 4 gift boxes with 4 truffles each. The hardest part was choosing from all the delicious flavors! I kept changing my mind and the woman behind the counter was very patient and informative. She even gave me a little ice pack to keep in the bag because I was worried about the chocolates melting in the warm car. I love that you can choose your ribbon color, it’s a nice personal touch. I will definitely be making a repeat visit if we’re ever in DC again!

I also wanted to note that I see some people complaining about the prices. Given the amount of personalization and knowledge the employees put into each box, I feel the prices are very fair. It’s a small business in the heart of DC with high quality chocolates that are meant to be a...

When we were looking for a fun experience for our 80 year old client to enjoy with her teenage daughter, we stumbled upon The Chocolate House and how perfect! We pre-selected a beautiful 30-piece chocolate box that opened like a jewelry box and had it waiting there for them to fill up upon their arrival (we also bought ourselves a couple pieces at the same time because how could we resist - and YUM). The team there were so helpful, and assisted our clients in picking the perfect 30 pieces. I even overheard the teenager ask the worker in amazement, "do you have all the different types memorized?!". All in all, this was the perfect spot for our clients, and we can't wait to impress our next chocolate-loving adventurers with it - they even had...
