I had the worst experience at this restaurant on 4/13/24. After making a 630pm reservation for 14, upon arrival 15 minutes early, we were told that the table was not ready, that it world be another 10 minutes. Forty minutes and 2 check- ins later, we were taken to an area just up the steps and on the main level. There we saw 3 square tackle that could, possibly seat 4 people, with one pertain on each side. However, the setting they provided was 2 people per side (utilizing only 2 sides of each table), since the tables were joined to make a larger table. Additionally, there were only 13 chairs and we setting. I need to add here that one of these tables had 5 chairs.

I called for the manager and the person who was in charge of seating came by. I told him my concern. He, without empathy or remorse stated either I accept it as is or wait another ro minutes. I made him aware that a reservation was made and that I had already waited 40 minutes for a table. He was very non-chalant.

I went to the host table and requested a manager. I told her the situation and she used the radio to request the manager. Soon after an employee came and said that only the floor supervisor was there. I told her that I was informed that there was a manager by the host. She then preceded to talk Spanish to the host.

My opinion here is that quantity (having a full house) was more imputation than quality (provide A1 service to customers). There was nothing spacious about the seating. Everyone was packed in like sardines in a can. Even food that was being served was touching places or shouldn't be touching (stairs, and, other people's body parts) because of the limited space between seats and people.

My 13 guests and I left. Never...

The one star is for the food because it was good. Now. The service….the hostess was inattentive and almost seemed bothered to show us to the table. The server came and it continued downhill. She went back and forth multiple times when we asked about separate checks. She stated they’ve never done separate checks and we were mistaken. Literally I was there with a party in January (2024) and November (2023) a different party and checks were split by the restaurant. She continued about it and I literally said if that is not the policy now, that’s fine. However it definitely was. To which she replied no, not in the years I’ve been here. Ok. Again, I have no issue with that being the current policy. But myself and others in the party absolutely have done it as recently as this year. Once the food came out, that was a wrap. She didn’t come back until almost every single person was done. No refilling of the drinks or asking if we wanted a refill, nothing. I let her know we had a came and she seemed bothered when asking what I needed. I asked for small plates and forks. Now, each time we have an event here, we’ve always been asked what we were celebrating or was it a special occasion. This has been a trend as the food has brought us back. She never asked and clearly wasn’t concerned-and we were celebrating a huge milestone event for my child. . It literally felt like she took the attitude of “it’s a party over a certain number, so I get my tip automatically built in.” That’s a horrible way to service people. It ended with not even a thanks for coming or anything. Her just chatting with co-workers and ignoring us after she took the paid bill. Sad. I guess we will have to find another spot for our...

My husband and I were so excited to come here tonight. I've been hearing good things about this restaurant for years and finally decided to go today. Upon entering, we were greeted by really friendly staff. We were seated in the balcony by the windows with a nice view of the city. It started off great. Once our waiter came to take our order, that's when it started to go down hill.

I'm not going to bore you with the details of everything that happened but basically our waiter had no idea of the specials. Even after we told him it was written on the board downstairs, he didn't believe us. He never introduced himself and didn't give us any information about the menu or restaurant after telling him it was our first time. I personally felt like he didn't want to be there. Even after many thank yous, he never said anything back to us.

The food was very good and one of the better tex-mex restaurants I've been to in the area. The service, not so much. No one checked in on us during our meal to see if we needed anything else. We had to flag another server down to get more drinks but I could see our server chatting it up with the other servers by the stair well while the balcony area was getting pretty busy.

Will I go back again? Maybe, because the food was pretty good and i would love to try their other items. I had hopes for a restaurant that has been around for so many years. Too bad it didn't live up to it's reputation. We ordered the calamari, seafood stew and branzino. Also loved the Margherita swirl with...

Sometimes when you visit a restaurant in the early afternoon when staff is transitioning from lunch to dinner you can get a true sense of how well they are run and what true quality they offer. I've been to Lauriol Plaza too many times to count but what I learned today is that they are in the decline. Overall service was good but the food was so so. Drinks were so so too. The restaurant needs a refresh inside and out. Granted they have a very successful formula it's time for an update. The outdoor wood furniture is desperately in need of a good staining. Inside also looks slightly dated. So back to the food. My wife ordered a entree that takes extra time to cook and we were warned as such when we ordered. So when the food came out a little later then we preferred we had no issues. The issue I had was that my entree was almost room temperature. Knowing that my wife's entree would take extra time the kitchen should have managed my order better which takes me back to the beginning of this review. Its the small things that matter sometimes. Granted staff is transitioning out of lunch the kitchen could have done better. We don't get into the city as much as we used to but Lauriol has fallen on our pecking order which is really sad. Not sure if I will be back anytime soon.

A friend I hadn’t spent time with invited me here for dinner because she loves the restaurant. After eating and drinking, I certainly know why now. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival and seated by the window. Our waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. My friend chose her favorite, the Seafood Enchiladas, and I chose the Combo Fajitas. When they brought the food out, I was first overwhelmed by the portions’ size. Then, after taking the first bite, my senses went into overdrive with an explosion of different tastes and seasonings. As I dug into the bottom of one area, I saw fried plantains and potatoes in addition to all the vegetables and meats. Who does that? I’m sorry, guys, there was no way I could eat this in one sitting. So, I probably ate at least one-fourth of a portion and had to box the rest up and take it home. In my defense, I didn’t realize how many chips and salsas I ate before the food came out because they were so damn good. Beware of them; in a good way… Before the waiter came with the boxes to inquire (like a great waiter does) whether we wanted to order dessert, we both had to give the side-eye and say, “No, unless they had a wheelbarrel to roll us out of this restaurant.” Please check them out for yourself.
