We live about 3 minutes from this place so I really wanted it to be 5 stars across the board, and most of it was! But I still wanted to leave a review to give some honest feedback so hopefully the owners can improve.
The good - The ambiance is perfect for a local joint and the service is wonderful. Servers genuinely all seemed happy to be there, they all spoke to each other like friends, and the bartender Kate was 10/10. This could easily be a go to spot for so many locals! The western smashburger was everything it needed to be. Absolutely would get it again. The sauces are very clearly homemade and PERFECT. This is the best barbecue sauce I’ve ever had and I’m so picky. Get the sauce and get extra! portions are large and priced well. The drink I had was strong.
The bad (there really aren’t many, it’s just one dish) I got the fries and chicken tenders and neither of them were fabulous. The fries are so basic, I was so bummed. I read a review about them being seasoned and was so hopeful they’d be like the “seasoned fries” from Generations Bar in Sherwood. They have THE BEST crunchy (maybe breaded?) fries I’ve ever had. Honestly, if you’re reading this owners, call them and see what their supplier is. Would totally change the game here. The chicken tenders are really odd. Super generous in portion but the breading is very floury and bland. The amazing sauces are the only saving grace here. The best tenders I’ve had have to be either Thirsty Lion or from the Oswego Grill restaurants… if you guys need ideas!
Overall, I’m definitely coming back. I probably won’t order the tenders again unless I’m trying to see if I got a dud order. I am seriously giving them props for what they’ve managed being so newly opened and I hope this place thrives! Definitely go to get a burger. Multiple people at the bar told me the pizza was really great too, so that could be a...
Read moreI was on vacation when I stopped into this place, and I’m so glad I did! I found out it was a newer spot, so I came in expecting a few growing pains—but honestly, they’ve got a great thing going already. The staff was super-friendly, and the music trivia night was outstanding—such a fun atmosphere!
I tried the smash burger (no fries), and it was fantastic. The sauce on that burger was just enough and just right—flavorful without being overpowering. On another visit, I went for the brownie with ice cream, and wow… I sincerely wanted to bathe in the sauce that came with it. It was that good. I wonder if Jake would be so kind as to give me that recipe....? LOL
Since I’m not much of a drinker, I mainly stuck with coffee while I was there. Grant was amazing—he figured out exactly how I liked it and made it perfectly almost every time I came in. Kate was also great, always encouraging me to try the different drinks they were featuring at the time.
This is definitely a place I’d love to visit again when I’m back in the area. Great people, great food, and a really...
Read moreMy family and I went to dinner there last night. It was our first time coming in, but we'd checked out the menu to know what to expect. I got the Cubano and my husband got The Pablo sandwich and we shared halves. My son got pepperoni pizza and my MIL got the chicken tenders, which they kindly tossed in buffalo sauce for her. Y'all. Everything was good. The fries were crispy, the pizza crust was delicious, and that meatloaf sandwich was AMAZING. Our waitress was kind and very accommodating to everything we requested. The atmosphere was relaxed, as you would expect from a brew pub, and clean. I was incredibly appreciative of the staff coming over to ask how our food was and genuinely want feedback. It is rare to find a place that wants to provide a high level of service AND is open to feedback to make it happen. I had no recommendations, but the willingness to ask really stuck with me. We will definitely be frequent flyers and I hope everyone in Washougal does the same! Let's make this place the community staple it deserves to be. Thank you for a great experience...
