Food is always good but the service is horrible and rude. The only way to ensure your order is correct is to just go in and order. The last 2 times we ordered it was wrong, and we usually order about once a week.
We had ordered two chicken and broccoli with a large side of rice and when we got there to pick it up only one chicken and broccoli was made. We paid $23 and then the lady at the counter argued with my husband that it was correct. He had showed them the online order and the receipt on the bag and she still argued with him. Finally she corrected the order.
The next time we had ordered we asked for extra brown sauce and a large side of rice with the meal we had ordered and when we picked it up the sauce and rice were missing, we let them know and they went in the back and we assumed they fixed it. We got home and the rice was the small not the large (not such a huge deal since it’s a small difference in price but still..) and what was supposed to be the brown sauce was what looked like old oil drippings.. it was yellow, clear about halfway down and then had bits of food all in it and smelled absolutely horrible. I called to let them know and the man that answered kept talking over me and when I was finally able to actually tell them what was wrong he said the kitchen staff doesn’t speak or read English (I had placed my order online). So I then asked how they knew what to even make for the online orders to which he replied that they read them off for the kitchen staff. So after I implied the mistake was his fault he got defensive and said it was only his second day and that I couldn’t blame him for the mistakes made.. so I asked them whose fault is it? It can’t be the kitchen staff because they have no idea what I ordered unless you tell them. I also brought to his attention that we also told him what was missing from our order IN THE STORE and it was still wrong!
If the food wasn’t good I would give New China one star. The food is definitely something they do right, but maybe they need to train their front of house staff a little better...
Read moreI've been ordering from new China for years but tonight I placed my last order. I don't know if the place has new management it if thet just let the kids take over. Either way, what a disappointment! First of all when calling to place my order I got placed on hold for 3 minutes whilst I listened to the in store customer contemplate what they wanted. So after picking up my food I expected the usual. Dishes with an overabundance of vegetables, broccoli, carrots, peas, sprouts, etc. Boy was I disappointed to open my dishes to find zero vegetables. Just a bunch of onions instead. The dishes were extremely bland to say the least. The biggest disappointment though was the teriyaki chicken. The menu states, teriyaki chicken. All orders with pork fried rice, egg roll or soup. All we got were three pieces of grilled chicken on a stick. No sauce. No rice or egg roll. No nothing. When I called the restaurant they stated that teriyaki chicken was just chicken on a stick without rice or sauce. I mean, c'mon $8.15 for a few dried out pieces of chicken with zero flavor is a bit much. I'm severely disappointed new China. Shame...
Read moreThis is one of the strangest reviews ever written. We have been driving past this place for years and didn't know what was inside. We have been looking for good Chinese food in the Keller area since 2003. We tried New China on a recommendation from a friend. That recommendation also came with a caveat. Don't eat in the restaurant. Take it to go. Well, we didn't heed the advice, but now I pass along the same words. Eat New China. Just take your food to go. The dining room is horrible. The tables are sticky and the decor is from the 80s. The trash can in the restaurant was too full to close. The fountain drinks were flat. Everything is very old and past worn out. But, the food is amazing. It is the best Chinese food we have had in a while. We tried the sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, egg rolls and fried rice. All of it was amazing. The beef was spicy and the chicken was cooked to perfection. I read other reviews that said the kitchen is clean from what they could see. I hope that it's true. On that note, neither of us got violently ill. We will order from New China again, and...
