As a black person, I can tell you that there is nothing more pathetic and disappointing then black owned businesses. I ordered from this place for the first time today (November 29th, 2022) I ordered the oxtail with rice+beans+mac&cheese, and the curry goat with mixed vegetables+plantains. They fill up the bottom of the container with beans and rice, and I mean fill it completely, to the point that it's havey, making you believe that you got your moneys worth. Nevertheless, no one eats that much beans and rice, they then give you a small portion of your second side and and a few BONES, and I'm not over exaggerating when I say this, just bones ! I called the establishment, and spoke with a woman who was extremely ghetto and had a nasty attitude (typical) She told me that the oxtail and the curry goat is supposed to be only bones ! and the reason why they put so much rice and beans, is to make it "seem like more food"🫣 what a pathetic, dimwit of a woman. The food also tasted like leftovers that had been warmed up. She did not act like a professional by apologizing or offering a solution, she said that's just they way they do things. It's the nasty attitude, a lack of professionalism, and a criminal mindset that keeps black people down in every aspect of life, particularly in business ownership. This place won't be around for long, I don't recommend it, please do not waste your time, or your hard...
Read moreEarlier today I called the restaurant to place my order. When I got there the order was waiting. I ordered two medium meals (oxtail with rice & peas and steamed vegetables, and curry goat with rice & peas and steamed vegetables). When I reached home the food was still hot and that was the only good thing about it. The oxtail and gravy looked like it was several days old, under cooked and extremely salty! There is never any reason to put so much salt in any food!!! It was heavily overseasoned with allspice and lacked other seasons essential to Jamaican cooking such as thyme, scallion, and ginger. The curry goat was the worst in that it contained even more salt than the Oxtail. It was as if the salt container top opened up and all the salt just fell into the goat meat! I have never tasted food with that extreme an amount of salt!!! Needless to say at almost $30.00 for the two meals it was a total waste of money!!! Money they will never see from me again!!! This is especially because I have informed them in the past about the extreme amount of salt in their food! Take it from me, this restaurant is not one to patronage if you value your heart health! And, it's a shame because there are very few Jamaican restaurants in the Litchfield...
Read moreI don’t know how this restaurant is still thriving their customer service sucks they either don’t do this or not going to do that to please Paying customers. I order a Rasta pasta which is $25 before tax ask for extra gravy and was told it’s going be $8 for extra sauce on the side. Not a meal but sauce. Than she didn’t want to customize my order she flat out refuse disregard my allergy. Customer appreciate is not a goal. The restaurant is not welcoming it’s a dry place with a big space and a lot of empty chair I agree with a lot of the other review because for a Caribbean restaurant I was give stale oxtails the staple dish was disappointing. She better off cooking for family and friends but to run a business where you don’t Accommodate you guest who’s supporting you and the business is a no for me Waterbury sucks when it comes to diversity in full the only consistency is the Spanish and Mexican fresh food flavors and good customer service experience every time they. This restaurant doesn’t stand as a good representation for the Caribbean I’ll give to New Haven or New...
