New Moon II — Restaurant in Waterbury

January 2025 (Update) I personally favored their Orange Chicken over other locations, and now I neither like the quality of their Rice or Orange Chicken --- it no longer looks or taste like the Orange Chicken I photographed 4-5yrs ago. I have opted to only eat from La BoriChina.

Older 2021 REVIEW: I have lowered their rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. I've been a customer for 5yrs and have noticed a drastic change in the quality of their food. The most obvious is their rice lacks flavor. That alone is enough to drop the rating down to 3 out of 5 because rice is 50% of your meal. (PS: When ordering Orange Chicken, General TSO or Sesami Chicken, always request it as "Crispy", example "I would like the Orange Chicken made crispy", it makes a huge difference in the quality. I recently ordered their "Pepper Steak and Onions" and will admit they added quite a bit of steak, but it was lacking in flavor.

2019 REVIEW: I always purchase from this restaurant; their typically always on point! Negative reviews are coming from people that have the food delivered to them, I personally always pick up in person and before finalizing my order I always ask, "What's the total?" to assure I am not being overpriced; it's best to ask this question no matter what state or town, always ask your total when it comes to ordering food from either chinese people or people with heavy English accents. (I believe whom ever delivers the food has been giving this restaurant a bad name and look; just pick up your own food and don't pay until you open the trey and see how your food was cooked. I only had one poorly made dish out of many orders, but because I caught it, I had the food remade). I ordered some wings and the general tso chicken special combo on 7/31 The tso chicken gave me sour stomach after a few bites... I stopped... literally made me have instant runns... I ate alittle more b/c I was hungry then threw it out the window into the back yard... and it kept me with the runns for a week. I called the restaurant... the owner gets on the phone and tells me... with my friend on 3way, "maybe you stuff yoself with to much food". "We sell 100 orders of tso chicken, why you only one call get sick." He really actually said, "I think you the problem with you stomach, you eat to much food!" I told him... "I will never buy anything from you again... I spend $40 -$50 week in take out... looking for some good food... I am a Chef by trade Le Cordon Bleu, chef... I need to just cook... Rude and if you ask me that was racist.

I ordered lunch express delivery & fried wonton... nice portion of general tso and boneless ribs. Rice was excellent! Great flavors & fast service. This was the best chinese food I've had in a very long time. Seeing how I moved to CT from Puerto Rico and well, let's just say they do it differently in Puerto Rico. I've tried several restaurants in this area and now I am happy to have a place that I can trust will provide me with quality Chinese food. 5 Stars and a big, Thank...

After 16 yrs of ordering from this place. They sent me the wrong food and I waited over an hr for my order. I called and asked them why it's taking so long they told me that the driver was beeping his horn outside. Phone person said it was not there problem anymore because we didn't hear or come outside . I told him how long I've been ordering from them after arguing how I was at fault for not hearing there horn. I told him the driver should of came to the door like every delivery guy does.I asked him to speak to the owner he said he was the owner laughing at the same time. People do not order from these people anymore even if there food is good obviously they did not to come to the door like they were supposed to because it was already paid for. They only care about their money and not giving a damn about good service to us customers. I've never been so disrespected like this and I am not to complain about much. But when I have a kid that was hungry and looking forward to have his favorite Chinese food and the dam owner tells me that I got beat for not coming outside to get his food I have a big problem with that!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM NEW MOON !
