Ok...I am a fairly patient and tolerant individual. I am over 40 years old, a military veteran, and have had over a dozen jobs since I was 18 years old. I have never, NEVER, seen such unprofessionalism, disrespect, disorganization, and abuse of employees. As a former employee, I personally witnessed managers and leadership walking around with video calls to girlfriends or siblings, swearing and using profane language with customers present, and yelling at employees in a unprofessional manner. Currently the executives at Chipotle are forcing locations to make sure that the front line has three people on the front line regardless of how busy the restaurant is. Meaning, the restaurant could be completely empty and these three assigned crew members are not allowed to leave their spot for 2 and 1/2 hours straight!!!!! There warped justification is because they think that if there is always people on the line that it will increase sales and they are trying to increase their bottom line at the end of the fourth quarter. So basically they are introducing inhumane tactics strictly for financial gain regardless of the physical demand being put on to these individuals. Secondly, they are always out of at least one type of food. If they aren't out of chicken, they are out of steak. If they are not out of steak, then they're out of brisket. If they're not out of any meats or proteins then you'll typically catch them out of either white or brown rice.
The management from the restaurant general manager all the way up to the director of the East Coast, Keith Moore are incompetent, Rude, unprofessional, disrespectful, slave drivers that accept absolutely ZERO accountability for the treatment of their employees. Their employee hotline and path to put in complaints about a person, manager, or the store in general is laughable and is not even in the United States. They use a piss poor pathetic third party complaint system in a third world country. I put in two complaints one using this system and another using customer support with not a single email or call back from anyone from Chipotle. All the while, they have the audacity to say and post that they are hiring and looking for new help while myself in numerous other employees were absolutely blanked and given zero hours for 2 weeks straight. The senior leaders are given 30 + hours a week and a couple of crew members are lucky to get 20 hours a week while everyone else averaged a measly 3-10 hours a WEEK! Now knowing that people working part-time have such a minute schedule of hours, one would think that they would be professional, accommodating, and have the common courtesy of posting the schedule at least a week in advance to be able to accommodate other people's jobs whom have to coordinate days on other jobs or places of employment and their family lives. Two weeks would even be more professional. NO. I was averaging receiving the weekly schedule the night of Sunday night and in some cases wasn't even given the schedule and then expected to come in on the day after without any hint or prior communication. The managers are a pathetic joke. They sit around in the back office and do absolutely nothing even when there is a line almost out the door and the crew members are overwhelmed and could use the assistance. When they are not in the office, they are outside gallivanting in their car and not even being a presence in the restaurant at all.
In conclusion, there is no accountability, zero professionalism, horrible working conditions, and literally possesses the worst management of a company I've ever experienced and seen in my entire life. Stay away from their food, their restaurants, and never work at one of these locations if you want your sanity and to be treated like a person.
P.S. They gave me so little hours that they claimed that work day canceled my employment and then told me I would be the one that would have to reapply to their company to get my job back even though I was never even verbally reprimanded. This truly may be the worst company in the...
Read moreI visited this location for the first and last time today. The number one reason I will not return is because of the store manager, who desperately needs to be trained on politeness and maintaining a clean restaurant (more on both later). I brought my family and in-laws. Upon entering the restaurant, I immediately noticed how most of the tables had not been cleaned. This was not a busy time (we were the only customers in the store), but apparently nobody could be bothered to wipe down the tables. Food scraps could be seen on the tables and floor throughout the restaurant, while at least a few people behind the counter were just standing around. I later noticed just how messy the outdoor seating area was, as well as the fountain soda station. I should have left then, but my family really wanted Chipotle. For six people, our bill totaled $88 (inc. tax). My meal was good, but my family gave mixed reviews on their dishes. For certain, the guacamole was not worth the extra money. The majority of the staff was friendly and polite as we ordered and they prepared our food. However, when one of the staff apparently incorrectly prepared a quesadilla for my daughter (a young boy did the work, which from a distance I thought looked fine), the store manager stormed over and made a big show of how the quesadilla was supposed to be prepared differently. She proceeded to mangle then throw out the food that had been prepared, which I felt was egregiously wasteful. She then started barking orders to her staff and speaking to us rather crudely, as if we had anything to do with the incorrect order (I would encourage anyone to look at the menu and tell me how a quesadilla is supposed to be prepared). Even after she provided oversight of the “correctly” prepared order, my daughter discovered they forgot to give her rice. She returned to the counter, where the manager said “move aside” so another person could pay. This store manager is especially trashy in her mannerisms and speech. Seriously, who hired her? At the conclusion of our visit, I realized two things: 1) we would have been better off going to Chili’s in New London, and 2) this experience was not worth the money. It’s too bad, really. We had high hopes for an enjoyable lunch but left seriously dissatisfied and...
Read moreI always thought Chipotle was considered “fast food,” but maybe I’m mistaken. If you enjoy waiting two hours for cold food with the wrong protein, no chips, and a side of attitude, then by all means, give it a try. Honestly, with the way the staff was treating both the customers and each other, I could’ve sworn I walked into Dick’s Last Resort.
I’m not sure why I gave this place a second chance after my first visit was such a disaster. The first time I went, I waited two hours for my meal. During that time, no one bothered to help me, and one of the workers was rudely yelling at a line of customers. When I politely asked if my order was ready, I was met with attitude, only to find out my food had been sitting in the back for two hours. The chips were out of stock, and when I finally got my meal, it was cold, and my burrito bowl was half-empty.
What shocked me even more was that half of the staff seemed to be just standing around, doing nothing to help the long line of waiting customers. I assumed the poor service might have been due to the fact they had just opened, so I decided to give them another shot. Big mistake. The second time around, I waited an hour and a half for my food, only to receive no chips (again, despite paying for them) and the wrong protein in my bowl—I ordered steak and got chicken.
Whoever is managing this place needs to seriously reevaluate how things are run. This is by far the worst...
