Stop & Shop — Local services in Waterford

Hi, It’s my opinion you should NEVER buy your gift cards from Stop & Shop . My neighbor bought me a $ 100 Lowes gift card from the North Smithfield stop & shop store . She also attached the activation receipt.which blanks out all numbers but the last four . Unfortunately I misplaced the card and went to Lowes to see if they could replace the card . There gift card team said if the card was purchased at Lowes they would be able to retrieve the numbers. However since it wasn’t they said go back to Stop &Shop and get the numbers and return here and we will replace the card to its value. SOUNDS EASY ? Not so, After talking to a young girl that was trying to brush me off i insisted to speak to a manager. She said the manager was to busy to talk to me and come back in fifteen minutes, I returned 30 minutes later and spoke to a manager named Steve who seemed to be very helpful. He took pictures of my activation receipt also pulled up the original transaction which still only showed the 4 last numbers. He said he was going to send all the information to his field manager and get back to me within a couple of days. It’s now been almost a month . So now I know this company could care less about my loss and was hoping I would disappear. AGAIN FOLKS TRY TO BUY YOURSELF GIFT CARDS AT THE STORES...

The Waterford S & S is a totally frustration. The employees are disinterested & although after ENDLESS complaints @ the corporate location the local manager finally contacted me. He assured me."we are trying to do better !!" Aside from OUTDATED dates on fat free milk, MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS THE TOTAL LACK OF CASHIERS. At best there are TWO check out aisles open , NO MATTER THE TIME OF DAY!!! When I ask the "so called" managers in purple tops they can open another register, the standard response is a sigh of annoyance FOLLOWED BY , "THIS IS ALL I HAVE RIGHT NOW !!" Last week I said, "perhaps YOU might open up a check out lane & start ringing up orders as opposed to chatting w/ other employees!!" I spend @ least $300 to $400 weekly !! For the past few weeks I have been going to Tri Town in Niantic, where : the employees are delightful, there is NEVER an endless line to check out & if there are more than 2 people in line someone rushes over to instantly open up another register while smiling & ALWAYS BEING PLEASANT. Have had so many negative experiences here. Right now, I’m being bounced around and put on hold for 45 minutes and counting because someone forgot to put my two packs of meat ($11 on sale) in my car for my online order. Calling the customer service number didn’t work. That person connected me to the store (which I thought was where the call was going in the first place) and the store person couldn’t help me and placed me on hold. Was bounced to management and they haven’t picked up. Still on hold. This isn’t the first time I’ve had trouble with the online pickup. Moreover, when you go in person, only two cashiers are open and everything else is self-check. If so much as a gentle breeze blows on the self-check out machine, it stops working and an employee has to come to swipe their ID. You’re nearly guaranteed to have this happen at least once if not several times while trying to check yourself out. The prices are already sky high, but then you also get terrible service.
