The Shack — Restaurant in Waterford

The waitress and waiters are phenomenal, especially with my three year old and my bff's ten month old. Love their reubens. Although when my kid spilt her milk under the table and I went to wipe it up I wiped up two or three dozen tiny tiny ants that were crawling all over fries that were under the table. I killed as many as I could with my napkin and jammed it into the now empty cup which grossed me out because ants that misses my smashing were crawling out of the cup... Turned my stomach but I took the food home and wash able to eat it again. No reflection in the waiter and waitress I think they had alot on their plate I think it's managements job to put ant traps down. I still support this buisness cause hey things happen and it's kids like mine who prob threw the couple fries on...

I love coming here I typically get the cornbread and soup or chili. The chili isn’t that great but the cornbread is amazing. However today I veered off my typical order and ordered the crispy chicken salad. Well I literally got lettuce with a sprinkle of cheese and what seemed like one if that strip of chicken chopped up. The chicken was good but the salad as a whole was a complete failure and definitely not worth its $13.99 price I basically paid for probably a quarter of a head of lettuce and one chicken strip. The service was off also I usually order something to go and was literally given the container with no bag or anything I had to ask for one. I’m sure it was an off day perhaps but I’d suggest staying away from the salads and definitely trying...

Told out server our son had a dairy allergy and they gave us his pancakes with butter right on top. We had a 3 year old struggling on our lap the whole time because we didn't know they had hi chairs and we only saw them on our way out, our server said nothing. And we walked there from our hotel room so we were in pj's and had a stroller , when we got there waiting to be seated if felt like they were just staring at us giving us dirty looks like we were homeless or something. All that and the pancakes were raw in the center and the bacon was really thin and cheap like boxed microwavable bacon.
