Ordered pick up from here last weekend for a special occasion, & was not thrilled for what I payed. I’m from SI NYC, this is NOT New York pizza in any way, shape or taste wise. If you pay near $25 for a 16 inch pizza from here that’s cut in squares for some reason (New Yorkers don’t do that), it should at LEAST taste somewhat better then Casey’s gas pizza. It tasted like a weird butter on top (grease it turned out) had NO flavor, & the salami was UNDER the cheese!
I also ordered onion rings, fried pickles, & chicken wings; BAD idea. The onion rings were OKAY, yet you can get Nathan’s from the $ tree that are amazing compared, the fried pickles were chewy/cold, & the chicken wings were chewy balls SOAKED in what I think was bbq sauce (not sure I spit it out).
For $50…I should have had some pretty good food, yet will now only eat the leftover pizza cooked in the microwave for a “better” taste.
Maybe whoever prepared it was having a rough weekend, yet after reading others saying similar & seeing the owner reply with “nice” comments that are patronizing & not helpful…leave an even worse taste in my mouth.
Maybe try ACTUALLY caring about the customers you have that’s food was not the best & offer them a gift card or something instead of letting bad reviews keep getting posted? NYC blunt honest opinion about this place. Hopefully it gets better as it’s a cool place & has friendly employees. The only employee issue, the person who took my order, she should pay attention to when someone asks to have a lot of ranch & will pay extra; I got 3 small gas...

If heaven had a waiting room, they’d serve Doughy Joey’s pizza and ice-cold beer while you waited. I walked in and before I could even sit down, Andrew had a drink in my hand with a smile. I don’t know if he moonlights as The Flash, but the service was so fast I checked my pulse just to make sure time hadn’t skipped.
The pizza? Unreal, i tried the Chicago style. The crust is the kind of perfect that makes you rethink your life choices, the toppings are so generous I wondered if I needed to tip the chef directly, and the cheese stretches farther than my gym membership ever did.
The beer? Let’s just say the bartender Kait slid me one that was so ice cold I thought it might have come straight from Antarctica. Pretty sure my taste buds stood up and saluted.
Huge shoutout to the bartender world-class pours. And the owner Andrew? Absolute MVP. You can tell this whole ship sails smooth because they’re at the helm, steering the pizza party with precision.
Bottom line: with Kait’s incredible service, pizza that belongs in the Smithsonian, and beer that could cool the sun, Doughy Joey’s is therapy with...
Read moreFirst of all I just wanted to say the greeter was amazing “manager”. I love the set up because you can see everything most importantly the person that’s making the food. What I notice in the kitchen absolutely no one was wearing gloves handling food. I seen people washing there hands I just didn’t see anyone using gloves when they touched food. I Was unable to eat because my stomach couldn’t fathom the fact they didn’t use gloves too make there food. I asked the manager is it possible if he can tell them too use gloves while making my food.. his excuse was they only use gloves when they need to pick up food. Like I said before I seen them touching food with there bare hands and putting it in the stove EVERY EMPLOYEE in the kitchen. He then went back and told one employee something and he looked right at me rolled his eyes and continued to make food without gloves. As I was leaving the host at the door had a attitude and didn’t speak. Therefore I will never come back to this place! Them employees had no respect for there manager...
