*Update: True to form, Pizza Ranch responded, A YEAR later. This is an example of poor customer prioritization and reflective of bad management. Seriously, the response says they're sorry about the long wait, but they didn't respond for a year? Wow, the irony. The review stars have been lowered for failing to respond in a timley manner and failing to even acknowledge how long it took to respond. While I appreciate the offer of speaking to the manager to make things right, I haven't gone back to their restaurant since my review and honestly, I haven't missed it. For the price, the food and service just aren't worth it. I wish pizza ranch all the best, and hope they correct whatever issues have led to such a significant downfall.
Typically, I have great things to say. This time, it was pretty awful. We ordered 3 pizzas for pick-up, arrived on-time to get them and went to pick up "room" and waited. And waited. Aaaand waited. I could hear employees in the kitchen. They could not hear me. I could see my order in the warming locker. It was paid for and I was tempted to just go grab them.but I didn't. I went to the front and had to wait on line for about 15 minutes as the buffet-goers waited for the one cashier to check them in. He was good, but pain stakingly slow and went through the rewards speech with every. Single. Person. And finally, the insult to injury: ordering online said they were out of cactus bread, which is frankly the only real reason to order from them. The pizza is average, but the cactus bread is excellent. While waiting in line, I watch three separate cactus breads being served fresh to the buffet and swiftly devoured. Not a...
Read moreI can tell by the other reviews that Pizza Ranch has the potential for greatness. So, instead of raking them over the coals, as I was originally going to, I'll offer this advice instead: Don't come to this Pizza Ranch unless your visit will occur during the busy dinner rush. I was here from 3:30-4:30PM on a Sunday. All the pizza on the buffet was clearly off an advanced age. Dry, chewy, wrinkled, and lukewarm at best. I asked for a certain pizza to be made because it wasn't out on the buffet, as is their policy, but instead, was told that my pizza wouldn't be made because they don't do specialty pizzas during slow periods. Very disappointing. Also, the place was literally festooned with ads saying that stuff crust pizza was now available on the buffet! Well, there wasn't one stuffed crust pizza on the buffet. And can you guess what I was told when I asked for one? That's right; no stuffed crust during slow periods. And the dessert pizza that this place is practically known for? Was so old, and dried up that it was basically inedible. I asked for a fresh one. And for a third time I was told... well, you get the picture. So here's my takeaway; unless you're there during a dinner rush, you don't matter as a paying customer, and their normal policies don't apply. I was very, very disappointed because even though I got third rate treatment, I was still expected to pay the first rate, $12.00 price. I hope this review helps you when making a decision about whether or not to go to...
Read moreI have no idea how this location rates 4 stars right now. I have been to four other Pizza Ranch locations multiple times and was excited when I heard one was coming to Watertown. I have tried the Watertown location three times now and each one was worse than before. They are always out of bread sticks. They only ever have three or four pizza choices alongside five empty trays. Again, this is consistent with every visit I have made
The salad bar was beyond disgusting tonight. There were peaches in the beets, bacon bits in the pudding and mushrooms in the onions. Then, to keep the carrots cold ice was just dumped on top of the carrots. I witnessed the solution to bacon bits in the pudding. A worker just stirred the pudding and magically the bacon bits disappeared.
The soup was room temperature tonight and VERY watered down. It was not even edible. The fish was also room temperature making it less than edible.
Dessert pizzas are always gone and to add to our enjoyment tonight, the ice cream machine ran dry too.
I will never return. This location took me for $100 over the last three visits. I am stopping the bleeding and willingly going to travel to Sun Prairie for my next Pizza Ranch fix. I recommend anyone else...
