La Michoacana Plus pizza cre — Restaurant in Watsonville

It is so hard to describe this place that I recommend you just go (ever so slightly) out of your way to experience it. You won't be disappointed. You also won't have difficulty finding it because It is so close to High Way 1.

There is no confusion as to the kind of business this is when you enter. Half of the business is an ice cream parlor, the other half a pizza parlor. They just happen to be adjacent to each other and owned by the same people. We didn't come for pizza (and it was closed at the time). But the ice creem parlor looks like a confusing TikTok blast zone. (Ok, more an Instagram blast zone as their Instagram channel is on prominent display.) The wall is covered ceiling to floor with panels that looked to me like influencer content, although they are really menu listings.

They have lots of special flavors that you can't get in traditional ice cream parlors. They probably have some more traditional varieties but that's probably not why you come here, anyway. After some taste testing, we ordered two flavors and were very happy.

Sometimes you stumble upon a gem when you least expect it. I was passing through Watsonville and needed to charge my Tesla at the Supercharger next to Target. I had about 40 minutes to kill and I discovered La Michoana Plus while exploring the strip mall on foot. I ordered a medium 2 scoop cup, with one scoop of Ron con pasas (rum raisin) and one scoop of guanábana (soursop). Both flavors were delightfully creamy, tasty and refreshing, Serving size was generous, the servers were friendly and helpful, and the store overall was clean, comfortable, and with pleasant Latin music playing in the background. My server also offered me a free sample of fresa con crema, which was sliced strawberries in its own juices with whipped cream on top. Also very tasty. Bright and clean all gender restroom. Overall a great experience. Without equivocation, I highly recommend La Michoana Plus for anyone looking to quench a sweet tooth at a reasonable price in the Watsonville area.
