Chicago Car Auction is second to none in both ownership, and business excellence. I have sold and purchased at this auction and have been pleasantly surprised each and every time. My last experience here is a perfect example. Phil Kuhn, founder and CEO, promised me a certain amount for the 5-series BMW I was selling. Because I trust Phil, I really didn't pay much attention to the auction, and before I knew it the car had sold for significantly more than what was promised to me. Who wouldn't be pleased with that outcome!?
It is a shame that ignorant people come on here and tarnish this business' reputation. If you are going to go to a public auction to buy or sell automobiles, you better have read the contract and have a very strong understanding of what you are getting yourself into. This auction is as fair as it gets. Owned and operated by very honest professionals. For the purpose that it serves, which is to offer cheap used cars at a price that anyone can afford, or to sell the same type of cars HASSLE FREE, Chicago Car Auction has no competition. They go above and beyond to satisfy customers, buyers and sellers alike. If you have a used car that you are looking to get rid of, I recommend you take it to Phil, he won't let you down. The same goes for buyers. If you are in need of a reliable, but used car anywhere from $500 to $10,000, Chicago Car Auction is the place to go. Good luck and...
Read moreThis place is a complete rip off! The owner Obie is a greedy, mean, fast talking, con man. He wears sunglasses in the dark because he can't even look you in the eyes & lie with a straight face. They try to force you to buy cars that need major body & mechanical work. For viewing before the auction 99% of the cars won't even start or don't have gas. During the auction some cars break down or run out of gas in the bay. I purchased a car for $2,400 from them and had to put $2,500 into it that's $4,900. What's even worse is after I made the purchase and was given the keys Obie saw me walking out to the yard & assumed I was stealing the car I bought. He sent a salesman & receptionist out to the yard after me. As I got in the car I saw them quickly approaching. They asked me if I purchased the car. I'm not sure what kind of people this place is used to dealing with but I must say it's far from anything that I'm used to. If would've known I was gonna be lied to, mistreated & taken advantage of I would've just purchased a $5,000 car from a reputable car lot. The only good thing I have to say is the salesman Amer was very nice & helpful. That's the only reason I feel comfortable giving them 1 star. Otherwise, i would give them a negative zero star rating if it was possible. This place is a joke & a waste of time. Therefore, Buyer beware! I will not be returning to this shady place...
Read moreThey get you if you let me them honestly but if you know what you looking for you have a mechanic and go after any major holidays you could find a great car and a decent price to match you will require a 200 deposit to bid and if you don’t have the total sum that night to take it, your deposit goes towards purchase and your car stays until total price is paid. But I did and my car hasn’t failed me yet..! It’s been over 6 mths I took it on the highway recently 33 hours oil change is all I’ve done and my ghost rider is rolling baby however I recommend an immediate tune up oil change and and check your fuel with any new purchase but they did fix the major issue I was Misinformed of ( broke strut in the dead middle of Chicago winter) after I discovered it and acknowledged the true unsafe problem and speaking with the manager mr.man I called him lol it was fixed next day( there is a lemon law, this is my personal experience please do a little research no car is worth your life and they are required to sell you a vehicle with all knowledge of an life threading issues..! ( aka they shouldn’t anyway) also recommend all checks done in first 30 days..! But overall I come out with a great car ( up to my mechanic who discovered the issue) and good price I would say check them out and see ..!...
