I stopped in today because i'd rather give my patronage to a locally owned small business. This store is half Mexican food/ half Mexican themed dairy queen type restaurant with the dining area heavily decorated to the desert theme. It's as if the owners couldn't agree on what they wanted for a restaurant so they chose to incorporate both options, which makes it very confusing to customers; just like the Pizza Hut/Wing Street restaurant next door which is permanently closed.
I wasn't sure what I was ordering because the whole menu was in Spanish. On the Chicken Palace side of the house there was a menu board that marketed catering options, but nothing for dine-in customers. Behind the counter was chaotic and I wasn't sure to whom I was to place my order. I received my food in about 10 minutes even though there was only a few people in line. The food I received was a small football shaped Sopes with a very small portion of chicken that would maybe have fed a toddler. No beans or rice, just the Sopes. The Horchata was less than average as it was some named brand type and not fresh like one would expect. From the creamery side of the house I ordered, "Cheetos with Cheese" because a pine nut Popsicle just didn't sound appetizing. I made an assumption that it was some type of Mexican delicacy that they called "Cheetos." To my dismay, it was exactly that! A handful of Flaming' Hot Cheetos and a dollop of nacho cheese, which took them 10 minutes to assemble and serve. I choked down only three of these delicacies before I tossed the $3.00 confection into the trash!
Two stars because the staff was friendly. Dine here if you are expecting small portions and have time to kill. This restaurant does not cater to the English speaking community in which it is established. If you are looking for that authentic feel and table side guacamole,...
Read more8/11: We went back on this date for wings and mashed potatoes. We called because we only got 6 wings a piece when their menu clearly states we are supposed to get 8. We called to ask what happened, first they hung up on us. Then when we called back they laughed about hanging up on us. When i asked to speak to the manager he explained they lowered it 7pcs per order, which doesn't explain why we only got six! Then i asked since they are lowering the quantity are they going to lower the price he advised he would not. Not very happy with this place at all. Good food but terrible service.
Food was excellent! I ordered 8 spicy wings and an order of mashed potatoes and gravy and it was phenomenal! However, the kid working the counter wasn't very friendly, would have given 5 STARS, but his attitude really just rubbed me the wrong way. Other than that i really have no complaints. I also tried the Jamaica drink the other day and it was decent, not sure if i would order it again but there is so many other flavors/drinks to choose from! I recommend if you are going for lunch at work, call in your order, or you may be waiting a little bit.
1/27 UPDATE- They no longer have the good wings there anymore. Do not go there for wings, they are horrid! They are dry and there is barely any chicken on them. They need to bring back...
Read moreWas quite disappointed this last time. Had not visited since prior to Covid. Salsa bar has been removed for starters, quality of food seems to definitely have gone down hill from what I remember. One person in our party even got quite sick the next day! The meat is my quesadilla was quite charred as well and extremely greasy. Tables were rather nasty and dirty beneath the plastic topping and were quite unappetizing to look at. Perhaps the worst part though was after I had ordered ice cream for dessert and it was about 9 min prior to closing and we were literally told we had to leave so they could clean up, despite my elderly parents being two of us!!! That is completely unacceptable, and despite being in my ‘40’s, the only other two times this ever happened to me was at the now defunct Orange Leaf down the road, as well as the neighboring Jersey Mikes a few years ago. Apparently, it must be a...
