I was here for lunch today. On the plus side, my food came out quickly after being ordered and it was excellent. The restaurant also was clean, had nice music, and an overall nice atmosphere. Service is where things fell short however. First, while I only saw my waiter serving three tables, there were really long gaps between when he visited my table. My drink was completely empty for at least 10 minutes. Then after I gave him my card to pay the check, it took another 10 minutes to get my card and the check back. Fortunately I wasn't in a hurry since I would have been late if I had to be somewhere. I think the person at the table behind me left before even placing their order since the server took so long to visit their table. The other issue with service was what I think was the manager. It seemed like the hostess was new and she had some questions. Each time she asked the manager a question, it seemed like he was incredibly annoyed and couldn't be bothered with her questions. Lastly, I saw someone walk in and mention they had a reservation. The hostess couldn't fine it on her tablet. The customers showed her an e-mail confirmation that they had for the reservation. Luckily it wasn't busy so she was able to seat them even without a reservation but it's concerning that they had an e-mail confirmation of a reservation but the host couldn't find it in their system. Overall I would recommend Maggiano's, primarily for the food quality and atmosphere, but be prepared for a possible challenge with your...
Read moreWhen we go to dine, whether it's casual or upscale, it's the start of a relationship that goes in many directions.
The person who greets and seats you, your server, back of house, manager, even the chefs- since I want to know all about how they did their preparing magic.
My niece was my sister and my waiter. It was tough to make the scheduling work but we made it in. We ordered a number of things since we like variety.
From start to finish, the meal was fab. The bright and shiny dressed greens to the tender and delectable filets with the exquisite creamy gravy to the house made tiramisu... Everything was a taste bud vacation.
Lizzie served us well and made sure we were never lacking. The lemonades were so refreshing- peach and strawberry. Her suggestions and knowledge of the menu was extensive since she could answer all my questions!
What brought us to Maggiano's was hard times. Exhaustion. Deep sadness. A bone weary season of our lives as for five days prior, we were preparing our father's funeral.
When we landed, we were cared for, served, not hurried along or pushed. Thank you.
Thank you for allowing us to just be and to enjoy a real meal. Thank you for your hospitality that was so greatly received and needed.
To the manager- thank you. How did you know? My sister and I are so grateful for your kindness towards us.
Our entire experience at Maggiano's was just what we needed. Yes, we were hungry and needed to eat. But our time there was so much more.
It was good to our...
Read moreTerrible experience at Mayfair location. PLEASE avoid the new Family Style Meal. You WILL get ripped off! They offer an option to pay $8 per person for an additional entree. For a party of 4, that would cost $32. For example - you would receive 4 1/2 slices of chicken (manager refers to a half slice {~2oz} an acceptable portion size). That same entree if ordered off the menu is around $20 WITH a side. It is a 4 person minimum so if you go with 4, you would assume you'd be given enough for 4 - and the remaining food can be taken home. They give 3 meatballs? The salad was enough for 2 and when the third person asked for more salad, we were told it would be billed ala-carte. In addition, the speed of the meal was as slow as could be. 20 minute wait between appetizer and 30 minute wait after that for entrees. What used to be one of our favorites is now a disgrace. Prices increased 25% and you get less choices, less food, poor service, and an overall poor experience. Speak with your dollars and AVOID Maggiano's until the corporate greed subsides and they return to common sense. It was never like the food was top-notch 5* Italian cuisine - but the family style experience is was what made this place special. No longer the case! Just for the record - we contacted several other Maggiano's locations and Mayfair is the only one with this 'EXTREME' policy. Bad...
