Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Waxahachie

Apparently they can't get anything right except the food poisoning. Really hate using this location but it's easy access between Lancaster and Waxahachie​. Not a SINGLE meal has ever been done correctly over the YEARS of trying.

Grilled cheese and Texas toast sandwiches come out burnt blacker than my car tires. If I wanted to eat charcoal I would. Family has been given food poisoning 4 separate times by their soft serve ice cream or shakes. Decided to give it another chance recently with burgers and EVERYONE in the car became violently ill. The ONLY thing we all ate in common for days (since we don't all live in the same household) was the double cheeseburger Sonic was pushing that day. One person in the car when mentioned the meat tasted off - we told them it was the pickles and their briney fermentation affecting the taste. By the time we hit up 3 different bathrooms in Waxahachie​ and Ennis, everyone stayed in Buc-ees bathrooms for a good hour before daring the trip home. Nobody was making fun of the super taster any more.

Btw don't bother ordering extras like sauces, ketchup, or salt/pepper because you're only allowed 5 free for your ENTIRE order (regardless of size of order) and they never add a single requested thing anyway (paid or free) - you're lucky if you get a single napkin with multiple items. Neither do they follow food modifications placed on the app.

Btw what's the purpose of ordering ahead when people who come after with larger orders given at the time they show up get their food first when you've been sitting there 5 to 10 minutes for just a drink? I swear orders labeled as make ASAP aren't started until a person arrives and checks in.

Thank you, that last 18 hours of rushing to the bathroom all day and night reminded me why I bypass...

They do a really good job at this sonic. It might sound silly but every employee there seems to care about doing a good job. Especially today when there was only one person working carhop. She was literally running orders in and out while also taking orders on the headset. When she brought out our food I asked her if she was the only person working and she said she was the only person who could deliver food. I said hang in there you’re doing a really great job.

If this young lady working at sonic tonight is the manager then congrats and your hustle was noticed. If this young lady isn’t the manager then I hope her manager and Sonic HR reads this message because you have an employee who is management material and due for a promotion. She took on this challenge with strength, pride and kindness (I know because every time she approached a car she made the effort to smile).

So it took me ordering about 12 time to get my order in. Not sure if they got the right changes to my burger but at least they finally got the right burger. Then I had to say about 12 more times that I wanted a sonic blast and what it needed to be. They seamed to have more time to play on the headsets with there friend in the next stall as the entire staff had to go over and talk with them on and off the head set. This is my first and last visit even if they get the order correct. This was just very unprofessional as I sat there for more that 30 minutes waiting to be helped then waiting for the order to be understood and put in right. I hope the person taking the order was new but it looks like they where just distracted to have play time with there friend. Avoid if in a hurry. Order was not fully correct as feared. The burger was missing changes ordered to it. It was made as it reads on the menue instead...
