I visited Mad Anthony's restaurant and tap room. Myself and my guest were the only patrons in there to have a drink and grab a quick bite to eat. I originally had a hot dog to eat and decided after eating the one to order a second one. The server had to go outside to find the "cook" and this is where the concern began. They have an open clear view of their prep area for food and I watched the guy come inside from whatever he was doing outside and NEVER wash his hands or put gloves on. He took his beanie hat off, ran his fingers through his hair, touched his phone and put his ear buds in his pocket, and THEN reached into the refrigerator pulled out a hot dog with those same dirty hands and threw it into the microwave. After it was done he grabbed it again with his hands and tossed it back and forth between his 2 hands rubbing it together because it was hot. And then put it in a bun. I was so incredibly disgusted by watching all of this that I walked over to him and called him out on it and he didn't seem the slightest bit concerned. He washed his hands after I told him he needed to and went to make another hot dog. I said absolutely not. We told the bartender what was happening and immediately left. This was so bothersome to me but what was worse was that I as well as my guest had already eaten one thing he had made and I didn't watch him make those first items. I am terrified to think how many germs were on his hands and how often he never washes his hands since it didn't seem like a common practice today. I sincerely hope someone looks into this and their food...
Read moreAt some point in June or July 2024, they've massively shrunk their portions and kept the same prices. Baskets of fries became about half sized, and Pizza looks to have gone from 16" to 14". You're getting about 30% less food for the same price.
$30 was pretty steep for a 14" pizza and fries, to say nothing of drinks. It's a shame because the food is so genuinely great here, but I'm definitely favoring the other local shops just down the road. Super weird time to inflate prices, as groceries are just starting to come down.
I'm not a huge fan of their "table service" here; pizza is brought to the table in a to-go box, and everything else is at the bar. They've got no problems pressuring for tips or charging I think $2-3 for a side cup of sauce? All told, it left a bad taste in my mouth to see such incredibly profit-driven business strategies; I hope it's because they pay their employees well. I'd also avoid this place or bring your own straw/cup for kiddos who haven't mastered drinking from...
Read moreUnfortunately I am amending my review of this restaurant. We came to eat tonight. Our kids (17 & 14) got there before us. When we arrived the bartender immediately came at us for allowing our kids to be there without us. We didn't know the kids were even there yet, but we were meeting them for dinner. We literally asked the bartender why he did not throw them out since it was apparently a big problem. Needless to say, we did not have dinner or drinks. So I can not comment on their food, as we did not stay to eat. Will not return.
Not accurate, my prior review: Fun open bar atmosphere. Beer and wine. Pizza by Dough Boys. We didn't try it, but it looked amazing and everyone was telling us how good it was. Huge beer...
