I've been craving crunchy tacos lately. It's a little bit embarrassing for me to admit that as a Latino man, I occasionally indulge in crunchy tacos. But it is what it is. As I was driving down the highway, I saw a sign for taco johns. I've never eaten at a taco john's. I've never even heard of taco johns for that matter. But it is conveniently located directly next to taco bell. I know taco bell has crunchy tacos, but I don't want to get a case of dysentery. So I went to taco john's to give it a try. First things first. This place is way overpriced! After looking over their menu, I ordered a six pack and a pound. That's six crunchy, tacos and one pound of tater tots. $14.99. And a medium drink. $3.39. My total after-tax was $19.61. The only difference between a taco john's taco, and a taco bell taco, is that taco johns does not break your shell. And they look like they took their time to make your food. Because the lettuce, cheese and meat are still tucked into the shell. Other than that, they taste pretty much exactly the same. I don't know if taco bell has tater tots on their menu. Even though they are very tasty, I really didn't need a whole pound of fried tater tots. In conclusion, taco john's is just taco bell with a neater product, and a higher price tag.
Edit: The day after I ate here taco john's wreaked havoc on my digestive system. I spent a considerable part of the day running back and forth to the bathroom.

Read moreThe food was I guess what I expected. But I was starving and had my 16yr old daughter with me. So I gave her the choice after working with me all day and traving back home. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. In the picture it had bell peppers and what looked like toasted tortilla. But I got a bunch of movie nacho cheese and chicken with cold tortilla. I also bought two taco Supremes. Or as the hostess said "we just add sour cream we don't have Supreme." (98 cents for a squeeze of that surpreme paste.) But the tacos were like tacos. The hot sauce is good on the other hand. I left the quesadilla after one bite and went up to the counter and mention the quesadilla being terrible. But I'm not one to make fret, 6pk of tacos came out to $12.99. Hostess was like "oh yeah they come with two pounds of tater tots." well okay I already have two things of tater tots I just bought with my value meals I just want six tacos. "But we don't have six pack of just tacos." At that point I said never mind and went back to my table with my daughter to eat tater tots and jalapenos. Lol I left the uneaten quesadilla there with the receipt of $19.98 needless to say if your hungry and your looking to try something new Taco John's isn't the answer. I'm sure even for die hard fast food taco people this would have been below par.

Read moreWe just stopped into this location at 9:40 pm last night after traveling home from of all things a two day customer service how to just say Yes conference knowing we were probably going to get not so great service since you close at 10 pm. But I was totally blow away by Nathan and Jose , their team work and positive attitude blew us out of the park , the customer service went above and beyond expectations as if they had attended the very conference we just left. As a business owner I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to see young motivated people represent a business with pride and respect. They are the face of Taco Johns and they did it with great honor. The place was clean and organized and another young gentleman was attending to all the trash and clean up with a great attitude also. Well done kids, it’s not hard to give get service , often it’s because we choose not to, but I can promise you , positivity bleeds positivity ! Thank You Nathan and Jose for that great experience, keep up that good work and who knows where success...
