This place is going to do so well in the location they are at and I am glad Battery Steele has opened a second location. They will do especially well during the summer with how busy the coastal area gets. Their first location has grown but kinda reached the max size they can get to. I am glad I got to try this location out before the middle of summer crowds show up and discover this place. Battery Steele make some great New England IPAs (their most popular style) as well as lagers, stouts, and sours. Try some of their beers if you have not, but also don't sleep on their cocktails as well which featured spirits from a local distillery Cold River at the moment. I went with their Spicy Gimlet but all of them sounded great. It had just enough spice but could still taste other flavors as well. The inside is perfect for a coastal restaurant with an outdoor patio that I look forward to checking out next time. The staff we interacted with was friendly and attentive and should do well once they fully open. With it being a soft opening, their food menu is not quite finished, but the fried pickles were a great appetizer to split. I look forward to seeing how well this location does and returning to try more of their food...
Read moreThe bar is very slow and the restaurant and barwas on about 1/3 full. I order 2 drinks and the delay was the same on both orders. My wife and I did enjoy the blueberry collatta. Wife has the lobster roll with fries. The lobster roll had too much mayo. The fries were nice and crispy. I had both the tuna poke bowl and the buffalo wing. The wings had good flavor and were not overly hot. The poke bowl was ok. There and almost mayo of the raw tuna which did not enhance the flavor. The carrots sweet and delicious. The pickled cucumber was good. The seaweed was ok but I left some on the plate. The rice was fine but nothing special. I guess in general the potential but room for improvement. We did like eating on the deck and the view of the ocean in...
Read moreWife and i stopped the night after we got into Maine, was excited to try a few different brews they offered, but they didn't offer any 'flights' - they did give me a couple samples of the stouts they offer, took a 4pk of Looking for Owls when we left. We both ordered the lobster roll - roll was toasted perfectly and so buttery, and the fries were real good as well. I actually made a second trip back to grab another 4pk of the Looming Illusion the night before we headed home. Looking forward to cracking those open this weekend!!! Will def make it a regular stop when we...
