This place is a 20 out of 10! Best Mexican food I've ever eaten...and I'm old, so I've had a lot. The restaurant is exceptionally clean. The hostess was spraying down and cleaning the menus when we walked in, so that was the first sign of goodness. The second sign of goodness was the fact that we were the only white people in the restaurant, so I knew the food was going to be the real deal. The staff is so friendly and so attentive. They start you off with warm chips, salsa and warm beans. The beans were flavorful without a heavy lard taste, best beans ever. I only got taquitos because I was staying at a hotel and didn't want leftovers to deal with. The chicken was moist, which can be difficult when it's shredded. My husband got the Carne Asada, which they cook to your preference level. You can taste that it was cooked over an open flame and it was so juicy. The servings are huge and are a great value for the cost. The most pleasant surprise came after the meal...my stomach. I ate a bunch of beans and I had zero gas or stomach upset. They do something to the beans that make them easy to digest. I've never eaten Mexican without my stomach reminding me that I ate Mexican. I hope they keep a table open for me because the next time I'm in Wenatchee, that's...
Read moreI don’t mean to be dramatic, but this was the best meal I’ve EVER had at ANY Mexican restaurant in my ENTIRE LIFE. I’ve been to dozens of Mexican restaurants in my life. Many of them in the Wenatchee valley. I’ve tried dozens of dishes. The Apollo A La Padilla (half a grilled chicken) was SO FRICKIN DELICIOUS. The dark meat was so tender. Falling off the bone and juicy. Well marinated and seasoned to perfection. But the seasoning did not overwhelm the flavor of the chicken itself. It was perfect. The refried beans and the bean dip had a unique flavor to them that I’ve never experienced in any other Mexican restaurant. Bay leaf? Another herb? I’m unsure. But everyone at the table loved it. The rice was perfect. Cabbage salsa was slightly unique but very good and standard.
Other dishes at the table:
Pollo A La Crema with black beans: delicious. More of a sour cream flavor and thicker. Black beans were incredible salty and borderline inedible
Carne Asada Burrito: fries were alright. It was a good burrito. Would probably try something different next time
Shredded Beef Taquitos: crispy and delicious. Topping were nice.
Overall, my dish was the best. The grilled chicken. Try it....
Read moreMy husband and I just tried Pollo Alegre last night. I'm so glad I was starving because the food was delicious!! The salsa and the bean dip were really good but we thought bean dip was especially outstanding. I got the pork burrito that is pictured in the menu it was cooked to perfection, great flavors and not too greasy. We love Mexican food but don't like it to be greasy. The team here was outstanding, so friendly, I especially enjoyed one of the older ladies that served me. I feel like it's so special to get served by someone like her. The pride just shines through when you get your food, it makes you feel at home. I highly recommend!! Everything about this experience was top notch from the people to the food. We will be coming here often! (for some reason Google isn't allowing me to upload photos but the food...
