This place is amazing! Service is so great! The food is next level!
Got the fries the first night we went because I wasn’t even hungry, coming from a dinner place but was just hanging with some friends while they ate so I figured the fries looked good. Easily some of the best fries I’ve ever had. They charged $6.5 ish which was honestly too low. Five Guys charges like $8-$9 for their large and it was as many fries if not more and probably better (5 Guys is my favorite fry so that’s saying a lot for me).
The next day we came, got pulled pork, Nashville hot chicken sandwich and of course, more fries.
The chicken sandwich: solid! The chicken breading was 10/10. Thigh meat which is the only way to go!! If I’m being critical, the bun was not warmed so it came off a bit dense but a quick flat top grill or toast would go a long way and I’ve had quite a few Nashville hot chicken Sando’s and it was a touch on the mild side for true Nashville. Prince’s Hot Chicken, this would be their mild spice but it still would be spicy enough for most people Washington. This is just me being picky, the sandwich was amazing!
Pulled pork rivaled and pulled pork I’ve ever had! Didn’t need sauce at all.
Speaking of sauces, their bbq is so good! Super sweet and tangy, perfect combo and not spicy at all, which my son really liked. And their fry sauce is amazing!!! I don’t love when places try to go crazy fancy with their fry sauces and mess it up. Sweetwood knocked it out of the park with theirs!
I am real sad I didn’t get the Poutine!! I didn’t know about it until after, I will be...
Read moreTo preface my review, I've made it a point to eat the best BBQ when I travel and I've had some of the best BBQ from St Louis, Kansas City, and Austin. Sweetwood does not disappoint. The portions are very large and have great flavor. My wife is from Wenatchee, so we visit the town regularly. For a number of years we have been making trips to cashmere to eat at country boys, which is where Sweetwood's pitmaster got his start. My in-laws and us each got a two item, we got ribs and chicken and they chose beef and pork. All the message were good. The ribs are super juicy but with a St Louis style. I say style because they're moister than Pappy's BBQ (arguably the best St Louis ribs, or even the best rib's in the world), which is enjoyable, but the flavor isn't quite the same or as intense. However for some this is an improvement, my wife likes Sweetwood's better. The chicken was good but could have been moister. The brisket is not sliced, it tastes good but it's not truly brisket in my book. The pork was good. These last two are judged based on samples from my in-laws plate, so I would like to try it again to see if my opinion changes. You might be wondering why I gave 5 stars when I haven't said that it's the best for that I've ever had, and that's because I know that I will want to go again and again. Also, I haven't mentioned the FRIES! The fries were awesome, crispy outside without being dehydrated on the inside. I'm hungry just...
Read moreThis place was pretty good! I’ll start with the service… it was amazing! From the second we opened the door until we were walking out, the service was exceptional. We were greeted right away, handed menus, our questions were answered immediately. A mistake was made on our order and it was fixed right away, no questions asked. The girls there were wonderful! The food itself was good! I wouldn’t go as far as to say it was great, but it was pretty good. I wished the ribs were a bit more tender and that there was a bit more smoke flavor on the meat and a bit more seasoning but over all it was good. We ordered the sample platter for 2 and left with a couple of food babies. Know that if you get this, I think for “2” means “enough food for 2 people to have 2 meals.” You definitely won’t leave hungry. The cornbread with the honey butter was probably my favorite part of the whole meal. I may have shed a tear that I was too full to finish the whole piece of cornbread. It was a pricey meal and probably something we wouldn’t buy often (but we’re also from out of town so there’s that). That being said, it’s meat, and a lot of it, so of course I expected it to be a bit on the expensive side. Meat is not cheap. Especially if you’re bbqing it. If you get the fries, be sure to mix their fry sauce and bbq sauce together. You can thank me later. I’d give it 8/10. Definitely worth it if...
