Update!!!: I promised I would come back and check things out again. See below for my first experience... tonight was an incredible night. Filet was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potato side was delicious and hot. Got the gooey butter cake again. Pictured below. It wasn’t hot, which it was last time, and is the only criticism tonight. The star rating goes from a low three to a mid to high four. Service, which happened to be at the bar with the same servers as my past visit, was very good.
Whether the site changed things due to the prior criticism, or I just caught them on a bad night my past visit, it really doesn’t matter. Perfect steaks and a gooey butter cake to come back for. What more can a steak lover ask for?

Prior visit
Pros- strip steak was cooked to perfection with a rosemary butter sauce that was gorgeous. gooey butter cake is warm, silky, and delicious. They use the owner’s grandmother’s recipe and it is the best gooey butter cake I have ever had. And I have had a few to choose from in the St. Louis area. Absolutely coming back for this. for the bad parts of the meal detailed below, the owner readily offered to fix the items that I was dissatisfied with. As long as someone comes by, I am sure they will fix what is wrong.
Cons - service at the bar was mediocre to poor. The bartender that served me put my dinner order in the system then didn’t come back until I was eating dessert. Over 35-45 minutes. Nobody else came by either, until the owner stopped by as she was greeting everyone around me. The bartenders had enough time though, to take orders from all new customers at the bar during that time. the smoked wings. Probably a wonderful smoked flavor but was doused in standard hot sauce which totally blocked the flavor. And they were dry, dry, dry. Sent the dish back. The customer next to me ordered the same, considered them cold, dry and oddly flavored, but still ate the plate. be careful with the sides you get. Both of mine were cold to start. The Brussel sprouts were overcoooked and mushy, and the Mac and cheese was tasteless.
I will definitely be back for the steak and gooey butter cake. And I will put up with all of the other detractors to do it.
This rating would definitely be close to a five if the servers cared more about the people they are serving.
I am on a business account, so getting free food is not what I am looking for. Traveling so much for work, I really look for the experience that I can remember. I am in this area for another month. I will update this review when I come...
Read moreUpdate: was thinking about trying this place again until I saw my review and recalled how horrible the service was. Not surprised the "owner" has responded to many reviews but ignored this one because the truth hurts especially when it is straight facts with no embellishments.
53 fake 5 star reviews all in one day and the management will do nothing to have them removed.
Wow look at all the 5 star reviews today specifically naming people that work here. Its almost as though they were telling customers upon arrival that they were having a contest to see how many 5 star reviews they could get today. Oh that is exactly what they were doing and the only reason the staff's friends and family have bombed this site with fake 5 star reviews today.
Well I ate here today and Kayleigh, Kayley, was not great. Maybe it was Hayley, the pregnant girl showing off her arm tats. Empty restaurant maybe at 15% capacity but still took 30 minutes to take our actual food order. No bread brought to us and total attitude of not wanting to serve us. Had to get the male host who told us about the google review contest today to track her down and even get us our check. Yeah he brought us our box for food too, no idea where Kayley was. Not sure why Kayley got the tip the guy host seemed to care about us more as customers but thats just because they wanted all these fake 5 star reviews today.
No one was busy here. Watched multiple managers walking around aimlessly and never once checked with a single table or customer to see how things were going. They don't care as they will just have their staff begging customers for 5 star reviews before they're even sat down at a table.
What was supposed to be a nice date night at a nice restaurant turned out instead to be a place with paper napkins, laminated plastic menus, and no bread or anything that would make this anywhere near a 5 star experience aside from the grumpy server we had.
Would love to see how the management justifies 53 5 star reviews all in one day as ethical and not inflated fake propoganda that they should report to google and have removed. You're going to need to keep the staffs review contest going to make up for the service we received and absent management.

Read more::UPDATE AUG 2025:: I still frequent Stone Summit often and the food is always spot on. They never miss a beat and the steaks have never been better. I’ve been there at random times during the day and week and steaks are always cooked the same! Aaron Duckworth (the GM) has got this place firing on all cylinders. Love it.
::UPDATE NOV 2022:: I’m changing my review to 5 stars now because we eat here all the time now. Something has changed with them about 12 months ago and the food is always fantastic.
::UPDATE Feb 2021:: We’ve been back a few more times as of late and I can say for certain that things are getting better here. (Not that they were horrible before but yah) The food seems to have more flavor, fries are top notch really good, and they had Buffalo cauliflower bites the other day which tasted just like boneless wings. It really messed with our minds. 😂 Also if you get a salad be sure and get their Mayfair dressing. It’s really good!
::UPDATE:: I want people to know I did contact the manager after his response and he was apologetic and made it right. We have been back twice since then and things have been better. I am changing my 3 stars to 4 stars for the help from the manager. At least they are trying to make things right rather than ignoring constructive criticism. I really was hoping to leave a 5 star review but I simply cannot. Not even a 4...
My wife ordered her filet mignon rare. She even said super rare to make sure it was correct. I ordered my NY Strip medium rare Pittsburgh style.
Whenever the waitress asks, “What does that mean?” when you tell her how you want your steak cooked all you can do is hope and pray it comes out the right way.
Unfortunately neither came back right.
Wife’s filet was medium at best and my strip was on the verge of being well done. There was just the slightest hint of pink.
Neither were very tender and seasoning was meh.
I understand we weren’t paying $60+ for our cuts but if steak is in the name of your brand you had better know how to cook a freakin steak the right way.
I will return and give them one more try but in the restaurant world it’s 2 strikes and I’m...
