I had an unbelievably terrible experience with the owner/operator Toni Marbar-Ruiz on 6/4/24. We arrived for lunch at approximately 11:55 AM. We were looking forward to spending some time in the cool indoors since we had been working outdoors in the heat. The only parking available was on the north side so we parked in a clearly marked standard parking space adjacent some vehicles already there. There were no posts or signs not to park in this area. We were enjoying our lunch when an employee approached asking if we were parked on the north side so I responded "yes". She asked if I could move and I said I would as soon as I was done eating. She said "no problem". Another employee came by a few minutes later and I told him the same thing. A bit later Toni Marbar Ruiz came and asked the same thing in a loud voice and I responded in the same manner. She obviously didn't like my response because she rushed off and after she was a few feet away said in a louder voice "if you don't move it I will have it towed". I am now feeling embarrassed and very uncomfortable because of how this lady is treating me. The surrounding customers are staring. I couldn't finish my meal. I got up and was out the door at around 12:20. She was waiting by my truck and began sarcastically and childishly mocking me by saying "I can't move until I'm finished eating". She then rudely pointed to my face and told several surrounding employees "don't ever serve this man". Be aware that throughout the entire event she never once said please or thank you. She wanted me to get up while having my meal to move yet there were no available spots. I later figured out on my own that they use the north parking lot as a passage when the drive through is full. Stopped in for a quick sandwich thru the Drive Thru, the order taker seemed confused and untrained on the order taking device. As the driver, I requested a Grilled Chicken Sandwich for my wife and while he was repeating my order - I told him to make it 2 sandwiches.
He then asked for our drink choices, I told him that we only wanted sandwiches and not combos. He then charged me $8.22 for our order and directed us to drive up to pick up our order.
After about a 6 minute wait, we received our order, I handed the bag to my wife and when she opened it she handed me a round container with a plain bun and nothing else, whereas she had her sandwich.
I stopped and waited for a manager to walk up to my truck, I showed him the container with an plain empty bun, he then asked for the order receipt and mentioned that we ordered the extra plain bun. I looked up at him with an incredulous look of who would order a plain bun. He then said he could fix it, but we needed to pay for the additional sandwich .
I gave him my credit card and asked him to make sure that we were credited for the supposed extra bun we had previously ordered. I was charged an additional $6.43 for the 2nd sandwich and he told that he only charged me for the chicken fillet and fillers - even though the menu price for the grilled chicken sandwich is $6.49!
Not once did this member of management offer a sincere apology for messing up our order or offering a discount to make up for the inconvenience. This is definitely the LAST TIME that I visit the Weslaco Chick...
Read moreFirst of all, let me just say I truly truly love this place. But ......let's just say that the service reflects the management. There are times I go and everything goes smoothly. There are no long lines, staff is extremely kind, they greet you the minute they see you, and orders are right. But there are times: where there are long lines when there's nobody there, the staff is too busy talking with each other or on their cell phones behind the counter, they don't greet you(especially if you ordered through the mobile app.), and they get the order wrong. Today was a bad day. My mother and I decided to eat breakfast in. We were greeted kindly but there was a long line even with it being a slow day. That didn't bother me. What bothered me was they got our order wrong. They corrected it but as my mother opened her box of hasbrowns it turned out to be chicken nuggets. When I went back to the counter to address the issue the manager was cold and rude. That made me very upset. Not only did we have to wait an extra ten minutes for our corrected order we never did get an apology, a refund, or the hasbrowns. I truly do love this place but service needs...
