Denny's — Restaurant in Weslaco

Used to be a huge fan of this place, but after today I’m not so sure. The service we received was terrible, mostly everyone but one employee was disrespectful in one way or another. As someone who’s worked in a fast paced environment, I understand how frustrating it can be to be short staffed, but that doesn’t make it okay to treat your customers rudely! We are usually greeted in a warm kindly manner by the waiter, but this time they just sat us and just left our menus at the front of the table, when they’d usually hand it out to us once we were all seated. We had to wait for almost an hour for our food, and you know if it’s going to be delivered late it might as well be hot when it comes out! But no my food and my fathers were delivered cold, not like cold cold, but like cold enough to the point where the cheese on my eggs weren’t melting like they usually do. Our waiter was super Kurt, neglected us throughout literally most of our visit, literally only came to check on us about 3 times (we were here for est 2 hours). And to top it off the manager (the woman) was EXTREMELY disrespectful to us when we were paying, she has always given the worst customer service whenever we went, I cannot believe Dennys made her a manager, when there is definitely people who are much better qualified to run that place. She is only going to ruin the image that they have. All in all the service was definitely very disappointing compared to all the other times. I feel terrible for leaving such a bad review at this place, but I do not see myself returning anytime soon, especially while that person...

Cashier never got our order to pay right Was there last night 10-19-24. Customers be careful this Dennys 1416 W. Expressway 83 weslaco tx the waiters erase the total on your check out receipt and put what ever percentage they want so customers can tip them more. Even if your just 1 or 2 dining in, then you tell the manager supposedly he's the manager Adrian Guerrero and he calls the cops just so you can pay the 18% of tip even if your just 2 persons to dine in. Of the the police are on their side cause they get free meals when they go. The waiter who changed the total is Jolyn D. Her service was bad, never got a refill her attitude was ugly, I think she was tired, brought the food late and cold. No wonder people don't want to go to that Dennys anymore. I ask Adrian Guerrero for the policy of where does it say that for 2 customers should pay 18% gratitude, he said there's no policy, then I ask for the number to call he gave me the store number, he didn't know what he was doing, he was giving us the wrong information. Those persons want more money from customers. They steal from you and the police agree with them. That's illegal of course, but I'll do something about it. Went in and sat on the booth right next to the kitchen by the register thinking I get myself a coffee and pancakes only to be met with this tired and bothered waitress who simply ignored my requests for more coffee or any other request for that matter. All she wanted was to go home. I was lucky I guess to get that one cup and my stack.

Momentarily, I didn't let it bother me but I understood I was probably going keep getting ignored if I asked for anything else so after finishing my one cup and stack I just got up without asking for my ticket and walked over to the register, it must have been around 11:10PM by then.

I calmly told the disheveled young tall bearded guy without a name tag: "man, I asked you guys for extra coffee three times and nobody helped me". Yes, I had asked him too., Then the guy just stares at me, gives me my total of $6 something, I hand him a $20. At that point I was upset and I said, "just like that, not even an apology". He didn't care, he didn't apologize but rather adopted a smirking attitude. I used a few choice words on him, at that point I didn't care either because by then it was clear, the joke was on me. He even stalled my change claiming he had to go to the back to get change.... For a $20?...
