We're somewhat regular customers here and this last experience was terrible. There was only two other tables when we got there and about 3 servers and the host. In the beginning, the service was ok. The server took our order and brought our drinks. She did take a while to bring our drinks especially since there was almost nobody there but we let that slide. She brought our food. No napkins. Just plastic utensils with napkins in them and never came back. For a long time. Came by once and left in like 3 seconds and never saw her again. At that point I needed a refill for my drink and never bothered to ask or really gave me an opportunity to ask for a refill. Had to go to the restroom to wash my hands because I didn't have napkins. Ended up asking the host for napkins because our server wasn't around and they actually had some, not those in the wrappers with plastic utensils like the other girl brought. Also I ordered the #6 combo which came with fish and shrimp soup. All the shrimp except for just two pieces still had the poop vein in it. It was never like that before and it was disgusting. I scooped them all out and didn't eat em. Then at the end they never even bothered to bring the ticket to pay so I just went to the front counter and was tempted to just walk out since we had a very bad experience but didn't. I usually tip very generously too but only left her $2 for the terrible service since all she did was bring our food and first drinks and that's it. If the restaurant was actually busy and full of customers, I'd understand and let the majority of things slide but at the end, we were the only ones in the restaurant when we left. I'm so disappointed in this restaurant today, it was my favorite seafood restaurant in this area but it seems like they're cheaping out in quality of the food and service. I used to recommend this place to everyone I know looking for good places to eat in weslaco, but I probably won't anymore. I'm willing to try coming back one more time to see if they improved, but I have no problem going elsewhere for good seafood in the valley if they don't meet the expectations I had for them that made me love this...
Read moreWe came for dinner on Friday evening. We were seated promptly, but then waited about 10 minutes before a server approached us. She said they were caught up in the kitchen. We waited another 10 minutes and she came over looked over her shoulder the whole time. She looked very rushed or maybe overwhelmed. 🤔🤷🏻♀️
We placed our food order when she got our drinks. My son ordered tacos minus the beans and they were brought with beans, we sent those back and they fixed the order, he had asked for sweet tea and got lemonade, but he still drank it. When he asked for a lemonade refill, he got sweet tea. 🤦🏻♀️My daughter ordered a cucumber margarita, but after waiting about 5 minutes, she was told the blender broke down, so they couldn't make that for her.
Besides that, the food was good and our server did seem to be trying to do a good job. I'll probably go again to add more stars. They have a kid's menu, as well. 👍🏼
FYI* The full menu is in Spanish only and our server only spoke Spanish. I'm not sure if this would be an issue for non-spanish speakers. I had to translate for my family, but if I wasn't there, they wouldn't know what most of the items in...
Read moreWe came in Monday evening on Memorial Day. I really wanted to like this restaurant because is so close to my house but it’s been terrible. The whole fried Tilapia had a rank smell and tasted muddy,it left a greasy taste on the palate of my mouth so bad I just couldn’t stomach it, same with fries. The plate was big , everything was piled on; rice , vegetables, salad and toast but blunt and tasteless. The complimentary consomé was luke warm and the beans and chips just ok .didn’t taste fresh . The seafood tower was good but enough to make up for everything else . When the waitress brought out the appetizers we still didn’t have cutlery and after we asked for it we had to wait for her to punch in an order in the computer before she bring them. The restaurant had three tables so it wasn’t busy.Overall for 70 dollars spent I felt like I could’ve had a decent dinner that I could actually enjoy . I’ll definitely go to Muelle 37 for seafood in the future , their food is always fresh and delicious. I wanted to give this restaurant a try but I won’t be going...
