Mr Gatti's Pizza — Restaurant in Weslaco

If you are wanting to book a party at this location I would definitely consider another establishment. Firstly, Let me begin by stating when booking your party online be very SPECIFIC. I always cover for the children(4-12years) and adults purchase their own buffets. When booking I included this detail in the reservation and received a phone call the following day from a manager giving further detail and confirming my reservation. I asked if there was a place for pinata and I was told yes. Ok perfect right ? So the day of our event arrives and family was being added to our tab. I advised the staff I was only covering for children and a manager and cashier both stated packages are not able to accommodate that. I advised them when booking my reservation I included it in there and a manager CM called me and confirmed with me. They recheck my reservation form and say, " ok it says that here then we can accommodate it " Secondly, we are told only cash is being accepted because there is an outage in the area and their system is down which included the game room. I understand these things occur and we cannot prevent it but not even when we first arrived which was a whole hour early did they mention it. Thirdly we ask if we would be getting some sort of discount since their game room is out and the package we are paying for included a $5 game card per child. Manager 1 states he understands and would contact the GM. Few minutes later go by and Manager 2 comes to us in the dining area and tells me they could give me 2 options which would be to get the game cards and come back another time or no game cards and buffet price would be $10 per child. I explained to him I would speak to my husband and let them know shortly. I go to the front and advise I'd go with option 2 asked for discounted price. Cashier tells me that offer was not what she was told and i would pay regular price (13.99) I asked to speak to the manager and she stated he did not want to come out to speak to us. Mind you there's 4 managers on staff. I paid for 8 additional children add ons $111. I apparently got a discount but mathematically 13.99x8= $111. My husband asks for the 16 game cards since mathematically we paid full price and they state we got a discount but didn't provide written break down of the alleged "discount " Fourthly, We pay . We ask for the pinata room and then they state for pinata room it's an additional cost of $45!!!!!!!!! This price was not mentioned to me at the time of reservation nor at the time we confirmed via telephone. I even called back once confirming the party and asked about the pinata and they never mentioned anything of an additional charge.You would think since their game room is down we could at least break the pinata!!!! Never EVER booking here again. I love Mr. Gattis and have always chosen their business for my kids birthdays. I miss the harlingen location and loved the mcallen location. Weslaco- DO BETTER. WHAT A FREAKING EMBAREASMENT! Weslaco takes pride in supporting businesses and of course drawing audiences because hey we are the mighty panthers. Mr. Gattis is an embarrassment and does not have the common courtesy of speaking to their paying customers. All my guests advised me weslaco location is dead and it's for a reason and I told them NO, MR GATTIS IS AMAZING AND WATCH it would become our next go to place. Boy did I eat my words tonight. Please do not book here and read these reviews. Here it goes, was heading to McAllen with the fam from Brownsville, decided to go have lunch Mr gattis McAllen location but remembered they had just recently opened the weslaco location so we decided to stop by and go check it out since it used be a old lubys restaurant and saw they were doing a good amount of work and remodeling before they opened, showed up around 2:30pm, and the parking lot was packed! Didn’t think it would be crazy inside but it was! Anyways they line to get pizza and salad was pretty busy, the salad bar was we stocked up, lettuce need a bit of work but it was understandable since it was busy, decided to go look for a table and get pizza later and all the table were taken and the empty ones were dirty with plates and what not from the previous customer( maybe short staffed ) couldn’t find a table, we pumped into which I’m guessing was the manger and told him we possibly needed a refund cause not tables were available but he QUICKLY Told us he could get us a table ! Walked us personally to which looked like the party area which was empty and had plenty of tables and was very clean! Didn’t get us no ugly looks or anything! He looked overwhelmed with all the ppl but still managed to treat us with a great attitude! Props to him! Finally went to go get some pizza and yes it was still very busy and managed to get pizza of several types and cheese sticks and let me tell you even though kitchen staff was crazy busy they made some BOOM pizza!!!!

Will definitely give this place another try at a different time and day worth the 35mins drive from...

Had a party for my daughter there so had the private room for the party area. They did not have movies like they did in the main dining area. We of course had plates pilling up when people were eating and no one picked them up. I am 7 months pregnant and I was busting the tables. When we would look for someone they were all hiding in the other side of the dining hall just sitting around. It was not a busy day and there was hardly anyone there. The Farris wheel was broken and my daughter loves to go on it. A lot of other games were out of order so my daughter who was the birthday girl wanted to leave sooner since there was no games she can play. Spent over $500 to bust my own tables, clean up tables, rounded everyone up for the pinata and no one helped pass out the cake. When I asked for extra game cards since I wanted to pass out to adults I was scolded and was told by the manager it will be cheaper to go get them in the game room. Thought we paid to get assistance and help but no one helped. Would not recommend for the price. Mcallen Gattis at least we would always get one person to pick up the plates and clear the room and help with anything extra we needed.
