Read moreSafe the Stress . . . DO NOT go to Ybarra's Cake Shop!!! The service at Ybarras is that of a third world country. It was the most upsetting experience in our life's time. Ybarra's gives Weslaco a negative name, where customers are treated in a humiliating and condescending manner. When we arrived, we were asked to wait 10 minutes, after which, we were asked to wait another 10 minutes, and again, we were asked to wait another 10 minutes. I asked the cashier, Lydia, how much longer? She embarrassed me when she snapped at me in front of the customers and threatened to get the owner, Martin Ybarra. I was somewhat expecting Martin Ybarra, as the owner and business man to follow the universal policy of "The customer is always right" However, Martin, was ten times fold worse then Lydia. He came in in a defensive and extremely rude manner. He informed me that he has every right to refuse us service and did not have to sell me the tamales after us waiting for half an hour. Ibarra's in not the only game in town. Safe the stress, DO NOT give your business to Ybarras Bakery in Weslaco. Their reputation for good customer service falls short. Weslaco residents deserve respect...
Read moreExtremely disappointing. Iâve given this place so many tries because the cake is good. I always recommend it to family&friends but after today Iâm done. First time a saw an issue there was a roach in their tamales, 2nd time I ordered a cake 2 days before I needed it in person & when we went to pick up âwe donât have that orderâ. If I didnât have the receipt for proof of purchase they probably wouldâve made me pay all over again. Now this time we ordered over the phone and asked for a strawberry cake. I went to pick up and it was white. They said I needed to be specific and shouldâve said âstrawberry passionâ. Why is it an assumption I know all the cake names, I asked for strawberry cake and they automatically said â strawberry chantillyâ so my assumption is they know but apparently not itâs my fault. Iâm done giving chances, this was the 3rd issues. Also why does the entrance smell foul it needs to be...
