Date of visit: August 17, 2023 Easily visible. Plenty of parking as the only option to buy Krispy Kreme donuts is through the drive through!! The dining room has been closed for approximately 1 month now due to lack of staffing. As you go through the drive through, ignore the first sign showing all of the different donut options as they only have maybe three available. I placed my order at the order kiosk and by the time I got to the payment/pickup window I was told they only had chocolate glazed, normal glazed, and raspberry filled. Well, I got 4 of each to make a dozen as that was all I could choose from. Then I gave the young man a $20 to pay, and he tells me his register can now only accept debit/credit cards because he doesn't have enough cash on hand! He told me they cannot hire or retain enough employees so they close as soon as they run out of donuts which varies daily. This is also the reason the dining area is closed. The car behind me did not even get anything; they just drove through after me. As it was close to the dinner hour, the donuts had been sitting there since the morning and were not so tasty. Once I microwaved it for 8 seconds at home, it was better. It has been a long time since I had Krispy Kreme so I don't know if the recipe changed, but they seem to taste different. Krispy Kreme, do better. Figure out a way to hire and keep people or you will be closing this location soon. Thus far, disappointed.

This review is mainly based on today’s experience. The donuts have never disappointed they are always good. Yesterday I was going to grab some donuts but good thing I checked the reviews before I went because apparently they were closed and this did not reflect on their hours on google. But today when I went to the store the doors were locked, so I tried the drive through and was told that they are only doing pickup orders. So I tried placing one on the app and it said that the store is temporarily closed. How are you going to tell me you are only accepting pickup orders when I can’t even place one? I’ve also heard numerous times that the drive thru is the only thing that’s open most of the time. It’s sad that this is the only location in the state.

I've always loved Krispy Kreme-their donuts are delicious, when they have them in stock. This location has been going downhill the last couple of times I've been here. The lobby is closed even though it says dine-in available. The donuts are smaller, with some being exceptionally small for no reason. They had 4 employees just standing by the registers on their phones, which makes me wonder why they have the lobby closed. I still prefer them over Dunkins, but they're not what they were. Seriously though, why was my original glazed half the size of the other donuts? And since when is it $10 for half a dozen (small) donuts?

Krispy Kreme in West Allis has unfortunately become one of the more disappointing stops for what should be a simple, enjoyable experience. My most recent visit made it clear that this location is struggling with basic customer service and operational consistency, and from what I’ve seen in other reviews, this has been an ongoing problem for quite some time.

We visited last Sunday evening around 8:00 p.m. The posted hours indicated the lobby should have been open until 9:00 and the drive-through until 10:00. The lights were on when we pulled in, and there was one car ahead of us in the drive-through. After a short wait, we approached the window ourselves. What followed was baffling. Instead of service, we watched as large donut carts were pushed in front of the drive-through windows, clearly blocking any view in or out. A few moments later, the lights were abruptly shut off, even though it wasn’t yet closing time. We could see team members moving around inside, ducking behind the carts as if actively trying to avoid being seen. No one came to the window, no one acknowledged us, and no explanation was given. The message was loud and clear: they were not interested in serving customers.

What’s worse is that this wasn’t an isolated event. Numerous online reviews echo the same themes early closures, inconsistent hours, stale or unavailable donuts, long waits, and a general lack of professionalism. One reviewer summed it up by saying, “Every. Single. Time. you try to go here, they are closed.” Others have noted that the store seems to randomly shut down, even during peak hours, with no notice or apology.

Several customers have pointed out that someone from corporate routinely responds to reviews with a generic apology and a request to contact customer service. But here’s the problem: nothing ever changes. These canned replies might check a box, but they don’t fix the issue. There’s no evidence of improvement, no sign that local management has taken feedback seriously, and no consistency in how the business is run day-to-day. It gives the impression that the concerns of loyal customers and even basic operations—are not a priority.

It’s truly unfortunate because Krispy Kreme is a brand many people associate with quality and nostalgia. People don’t come here for complex meals or extended service. They come for a fresh donut, maybe a coffee, and a few minutes of simple comfort. But even that seems to be too much to expect from this location. The experience left us frustrated and disappointed, and we have no plans to return.

Until there is clear evidence that management is listening, that store hours are being respected, and that basic customer service is being restored, I can’t recommend this Krispy Kreme to anyone. A business can’t survive on brand name alone—especially not when it continually turns away its customers, literally and...

A complete group of idiots work here, with 1 black guy working in the back. This place should be shut down! We walk up to the FRONT door facing the street at this location and it's locked? 🤔 Then we decide to try and see if the side door was open...it was. As were walking to the front area to ask why the door was locked, we noticed there was NO donuts being made for some asinine reason when this placeis labeled as a Krispy Kreme doughnut store. We continue walking to the front counter where we notice it was rather "dark" inside, it was not illuminated at all. It looked as if they were closing at around 5pm the time when we visited. Nonetheless, we walk mid way to the front counter where the doughnuts are kept on trays and to our immediate left we see "2" Caucasian kids I'd guess 🤷🏼‍♂️, standing there laughing, lollygagging and horseplaying while us customers are in the store? 😡 I ask the young Caucasian girl with the long ponytail if the doughnuts on the trays were hot and she says no, they'd been sitting there since earlier in the day? 🤔🚩 She turns to the "2" lollygaggers and asks the other Caucasian boy and girl if they were making any new doughnuts and they both stand there looking bewildered, shaking there heads in a condescending way! I started to get agitated, due to me being a highly decorated military Veteran, who suffers from PTSD to say the least and them not being serious caused me to become alarmed!!! Whomever the Manager and GM are, all of them should be "FIRED" along with the 🤡 's that I'm speaking of that work here! We will be sending our comments to the headquarters of Krispy Kreme, as this is troubling and if they are not selling doughnuts, why are they opened? Understand this, we will NEEEVER visit this only location in the city again! Terrible customer service!...

So I don't know if you've been following recent reviews for this place but something is definitely going on here. It's been about 3-4 weeks since they made any fresh donuts as far as I can tell. One month ago is the last time anyone commented about watching them make fresh donuts. Anyway, I stopped yesterday at about 6:40am and they weren't open. There were two guys inside acting like they were working on the machinery (I say acting because I'm pretty sure now that's what they were doing, I'll come back to that.) No signs on the door, nothing really telling why they were closed (They open at 6:00.) I wrote it off to broken machines. I went back this morning and they were open but they were not making donuts. There were big green boxes holding what I'm sure was a delivery of donuts from elsewhere. My guess is yesterday their delivery was late so they just locked the doors and pretended they were working on the machines, rather than just maybe putting a sign on the door. Weird, but ok. They do not have any cake donuts, only various forms of original glazed and filled glazed. And nothing hot, or fresh going on. I give 3 stars because I actually got good customer service. I don't know what the guys name was, his nametag was illegible, but he was very nice and probably in a pretty tough spot, so they get a 3 only for his smiling face this morning. My theory is this location will close soon. They certainly can't expect to continue to function this way much longer.... I know I won't be back any time soon. There are too many other really excellent donut shops in West Allis to waste your time and money on shipped in,...
