I've been patronizing this "establishment for a few years now and slowly but surely, this place is going to H&#L. The walls are full of years of dirt, food and other unidentified substances that have never been fully cleaned or sanitized in any way. Under the food carts are dried remnants of food and dirt, and as you make your plates ,you can definitely smell it and it was very unappetizing at worst. The afternoon that I came to New China Buffet,I decided that I was going to take my grandmother out for her birthday as a surprise and boy o' boy, she was was on top of the world when we pulled in to the parking lot. We were so hungry that we weren't conscious of the atmosphere there and we filled our plates with all different types of Chinese food. My grandmother loves egg rolls, so she got a few and went back to our table. She took a bite of the egg roll and gave me a grave look of discust and discretely spit it in the napkin and went immediately to the ladies room. She came back and had tears in her eyes and said she wanted to go home because she had gotten sick in the bathroom and I sympathetically obliged and went home. The very next day, I went back to the restaurant and wanted an apology and our money back .Upon entering the restaurant,I was greeted by a Oriental woman that claimed to be the manager and I explained the whole ordeal with me and my grandmother's visit from the day before and I requested my money back and hopefully get an apology from her. This woman immediately developed an attitude toward me and accused me of lying to her because she said that she was working the register and did not remember us coming in. She further accused me of trying to scam her out of money and gave me a directive to leave immediately and without putting myself in a compromising position by arguing with her, I got the heck out of that place. So, with that being said, I cannot recommend New China Buffet to anyone, please don't waste your hard earned dollars on a nasty place like this and go somewhere else...
Read moreI wanted to give my kids a positive experience trying chinese food and thought a buffet was a good idea so they can try several things and see what they like. i come in and its $12.50 even for a kids buffet. so i go in against better judgement because we are already there and told kids were trying chinese. Im super positive and we walk around and pick a few "safe" items i think kids would eat or try. i put a tiny bit of each on my plate then have em try a bite of each. both my boys were gagging. now i tried the honey chicken and it was hard as a rock. the rangoon (which is my normal favorite) didnt taste like a rangoon i cannot even describe it, the soy sauce even was strange like tampered with or something, the sweet n sour chicken was 90% breading with a nibble of chicken in the center and bland. the sushi... was primarily white rice with teensy bit of veggies in it like a pencil eraser size and did not have chopsticks or soy sauce plates or ginger. it was not a normal way to even eat sushi. beef and broccoli was definately microwaved and also another chicken sesame or something had that funky leftover meat microwave taste. after eating a quarter of one plate shared between three people we asked if there was any way to get a refund because we couldnt even stomach eating the safest simple options. they said no which i expected. i paid $36 for me and my kids to nibble a couple bites off one plate that we shared. we left. no one could stand it. my son was gagging and wouldnt even go anywhere else to eat. my boyfriend just flat out refuse to eat anywhere (who thankfully he was in the car with my daughter who was throwing a tantrum about something else unrelated and he was going to meet us in when she calmed down. thankfully they never came in and paid or wed be out even more money) so at the end of the day we went home and no one ate dinner. its 9pm and were all distgusted and just quit at this point. this was one of the worsr food experiences i have ever had in my entire life. not...
Read moreAfter a long day at work, my husband and I were trying to figure out what to eat. We decided to stop by New China Buffet to save ourselves the extra 5-minute drive to our usual spot at Lovers Lane Sushi Bar & Buffet, a decision we immediately regretted.
The food was incredibly disappointing. Most of it tasted old and stale, like it had been refrigerated without a lid or deep-fried multiple times. The buffet selection was minimal, and shockingly, there was no pizza available for the kids, something you typically expect at family-friendly buffets.
What made the experience feel even cheaper was the fact that everything was served using disposable styrofoam plates, bowls, and utensils. It felt more like a takeout joint than a dine-in buffet. This, combined with the poor food quality, made the whole visit feel low-effort and uninviting.
The clams were rubbery and stretched like chewing gum—possibly undercooked, definitely unappetizing. The crab salad had that unpleasant “refrigerator taste,” and the crab rangoons were just okay at best, though I’ve had much better even from other buffets.
We truly wish we had just taken the short drive to Lovers Lane. Even if the meal here were free, we wouldn’t come back. I don’t like being overly harsh, but I hope this feedback is taken as constructive criticism. There’s a lot of room for improvement, and diners...
