I had a great time at this make your own stir fry place. The staff was nice and very helpful. The restaurant was clean and appealing. Granted it seems like a new location so the design was trendy and everything was new (reminiscent of Stir Crazy but not quite as fancy). But as for the food, everything was good but not amazing. It is a situation where you personally choose the type and quantity if the meat, vegetables, sauces, and noodles (or rice at your table). So it's more like BD Mongolia in that respect. Then you move on to the group where they make it for you. Before going back to your table don't forget that there is a toppings area behind the grill area. Also don't forget this is an all you can eat situation so don't feel pressured to get something huge immediately. Time for pro tips. Pro tip one, don't go light on the sauces. They recommend between 5 and 6 ladles, and it is accurate. Since they have you put the sauce on your food before it's cooked, instead of a small cup to be put on later in the cooking process, the sauces are going to cook down. Pro tip two, use the recipes. They have a stand full of recipes for dishes you might like. I used them for inspiration on what I wanted to make. They are especially helpful for sauce creation. Pro tip three, use two bowls. The first time up I only used one and felt like a newb when I saw someone use two. Not saying you have to take massive amounts however it takes the pressure off for trying to for meat, noodles, vegetables, and sauce into one small bowl. Pro tip four, they appear to be gluten free friendly. When someone asked it appeared that they cleaned off a spot on the curricular cook top specially for it. And kinda walled it off with plates and cooking utensils. That being said if you have an extreme allergy I don't think...
Read moreTwo or three tables occupied when we walked in around 3 p.m. & I believe one table was an employee. Stood & waited to be seated probably 3-4 minutes before 2 gals finally walked out from the back giggling & it took both of them to seat us? WTH?? Took our drink orders & told us to go up & start our meal prep whenever we wanted, which was fine. Both of us had gone up twice for food. As we were finishing up on our 2nd plates, the waitress brought over our ticket. Mind you, we were there during their "lunch" period, which ends at 4 p.m. Lunch is $13.99, whereas dinner is $17.99. I looked at the ticket & she rang it in at 4:01 p.m. which charged us the dinner amounts. When she came back to the table I questioned her about it. Her reply was, "Oh my gosh...I didn't realize that...it sometimes gets confusing because we have 3 clocks around here & all 3 show different times." Now I would guess that since everything is "on computers" these days the time is "automatically" entered onto the ticket when it is entered...which i would have thought would have been when she entered our drinks at the beginning of our meal. (At this point I should also mention that there were other customers that had come in, waited to be seated & turned around & walked out because no one came out to acknowledge them) Ok...so after some time she came back to our table with a new ticket & it was corrected & to our surprise she also deducted extra. That made us much happier. So I go to pay the bill which was $28+change. I give her a $50 bill & the change...she comes back with $12...umm, no, that's not right...you're shorting me $10. She gave me a look like I was crazy. Nope...won't be going back there...
Read moreSo 1st time there and I loved the concept. You get to go through a buffett to select your ingredients and sauce to then give to the person who will cook it for you on the hot "grill" (even though I thought it was a griddle). So you watch them do that (the person working at the time i went was easy to watch lol) and on the other side of the circle shaped area you pick up the finished meal. That is also where you can choose a topping for texture. The lunch buffett is different then dinner. Dinner has more options. Both lunch and dinner is unlimited so you can do that as many times as you want. Staff was friendly and it was really Affordable. Lunch for two was under $27 and that was with one of us having a soda and the other a water. Pineapple, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, chickpeas ect that type of ingredient was obviously canned and the proteins were frozen and thinly sliced. I guess it makes it perfect to cook on that type of "grill" for the style of cooking (I believe Mongolian). I would and am 100% going there again and with different friends. It was a unique dining experience and i was really suprised. Now i would ask the server for suggestions and then you can get a little card with the name given by server before you start the picking process for how to and what to make ot with. That is something i just realized as im typing this. Them little cards were the way to make dishes damn i have to go back see! My options were lame because i was trying to make something that i could never make there as it is more of a soup lol. So that is on me not the place but i ate all of it so it wasnt that bad. I hope you go and it is as great of an experiance as i have. Thanks for...
