They weren't flexible with the menu items, I'm guessing they easy bake oven things. They didn't listen, then had an attitude about it, offered to remake it, but I didn't want spit in my food after the attitude so I said it's fine. I just ate unseasoned hashbrowns and decent turkey bacon. Coffee was not good, and pineapple mimosa thing was gross after waiting over 30mins for it, sadly it was the first thing I ordered. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile but was really disappointed.
Update after owner response: First, the "Pineapple Princess" lol yall knew what I meant, was still gross, and arrived right before we left. Second, really? more attitude by review response is crazy. Third, yall weren't flexible at all, I asked for key lime toppings on french toast instead of pancakes without the black/blueberry stuff. That's just key lime cream, graham cracker crumbles and white chocolate drizzle, which yall had to ask to place toppings on one thing instead of another just to still put blueberry sauce on it and give me attitude for not wanting it or the hassle. Before that, I asked for white chocolate on the peanut butter chocolate pancakes, which wasn't doable. Fourth, already noted, there was an offer to rectify, but obviously, this attitude yall got going on in there had me less enthused to even try anything else. Let alone speak to another staff, manager, or "owner responding" that has an attitude.
I was nice enough to still tip despite yall ruining my birthday brunch with attitude, no main food item to eat, and a gross drink after being parched for 30mins...lol I didn't even get a birthday discount... left with just a bad experience. Y'all need to take...
Read moreWas very excited to try this ‘new to me’ breakfast spot! I’ve tried many in Milwaukee and the menu had me even more excited. When I arrived, I had gifts in hand for my friend I was meeting and when I asked the Hostess if there was a party seated already awaiting ‘1’, she said {loudly} well why don’t you text them ?!
Wow- never experienced that before but I walked back outside to do so.
We walked in together and were asked if we wanted to be seated… uhm, yes? [this context is simply for the waitstaff ‘experience’ part of review]
When seated, our server was kind but didn’t know much of anything- made no suggestions, no real’service’ besides a cute smile and shared he was new working here
We ordered what we both thought would be delicious -fig egg omlette -
Take it OFF the menu….. I felt like I was crunching egg shells in the eggs there was 4/5 pc’s of FIG w/seeds in every bite! The tiny bits of ham- rubbery as ever and took a lot of chewing.
I asked for blueberry pancake with berries in the pancake- not fresh berries. Pancakes were brought to table cold
Fruit bowl side was hard melon- unripe. Grapes were sweet.
I picked out all the fig pieces, ate the fruit and half a pancake. There was something odd about the flavor of pancake, it was heavy and bland.
I will not give this place a second try. And the repeated Management comments to reviews here shows no concern other than repeating himself and asking folks to revisit 😆 the people that find this food delicious ought to try BKC/ Mad rooster/ First Watch or even George Webbs instead.
We tipped waiter well, but he could use some more training. NEVER asked how our food tasted- they know it’s...
Read moreConstructive Criticism- The coffee was a high quality, rich medium roast which went well with the flavored creamer provided. After drinking, I noticed it's from Intelligentsia, which makes sense. Great choice.
The food came out very fast. I ordered the Senior Special because I was looking for a lower portion size (and price). I was interested to see how the pancakes were undecorated. This is a good judge, as it sets the bases for all of the extravagent toppings. It was plain and needed the syrup. Honestly, I highly recommend the owner to take a small trip up to Rivers Edge Restaurant in Saukville, known locally as The Truck Stop. Their plain pancakes will blow your mind. If you can encorporate that flavor into your pancakes here, business will be booming. It's worth the trip.
Onto the sides... the sausage was huge and pretty flavorful. I do have preference for sausage with skin, but I enjoyed this. The soft scrambled eggs were a bit off in flavor and texture. Not a spec of white in the scramble, it seems to me to be egg from a carton. If so, I'm not offended as I've resorted to it myself for the cleanliness, but it does show in the quality. This isn't a cheap restaurant, so the extra effort of fresh eggs would be appropriate.
Overall, this restaurant is on the right track, and I think some small tweaks to quality would make it the best place around...
