Really enjoyed Ope when it first opened. The space is great and got better with the patio. Beer is hit or miss…most of the sours and seltzers are great but some of the other offerings not as much due to inconsistency of the product. I was hoping this would have improved giving a new place growing pains to work through but even a year plus later it was pretty much the same. I loved that they are dog friendly but live music 3-4 times a week is a bit excessive and not every dog tolerates the loud noise of the band the same. My biggest disappointment came with the membership. They started off very attentive, but after a few months things nosed dived, less notification on when new products were being released, and not all of the promised in the membership was fulfilled. To counteract this they extended the original membership another year, but it was more of the same non communication. The 2nd year Black Friday beer release was just a rehash of year one with real no thought or effort put into it, and even what was being released for Black Friday was poorly communicated, with just a week’s notice. Compare that to the other breweries in the area that had at least communicated what was being released a month before. More effort and notice was given for the music acts and less on the product. It was around this time I went to ask a question in the members page to find myself removed from the page with no warning. Through a few email inquiries, I was still a member but no reason was given about the status as to why I was removed from the members page. The was the point I use my spending...
Read moreThere is no denying it is a space that has lots of potential to be great. Ample seating, ample parking and great outdoor area. Unfortunately with mismanagement, it looks great on the surface but is really a hot mess.
Live music is hosted way too much. I'm all for supporting local music but the space is set up poorly for it. Way too loud; part of the fun of visiting a brewery with friends is being able to talk and interact but the music is way too loud and I can barely hear the person sitting 2 feet from me. Not to mention it must be very stressful to some of the dogs in there who do not enjoy loud noises.
Beer has really taken a turn for the worse as well. First year it was solid and definitely above average; the Strawberry Rhubarb sour rivaled New Glarus' quality. Something seemed to change starting in 2023 as the beer has become mid at best. You can find better beer at most other breweries in the area. Not sure how the beer goes from how it started to how it is now; usually places get better the longer they make beer.
There seems to be a lot of staff turnover here as well; not sure what that is about but usually it's an indication that whomever is running the place does not know what they are doing as there were some pretty awesome beertenders from the early days that are no longer there now and that's a shame because that's part of the enjoyment of going to a space.
Perhaps they can get things turned around and get it back to how it was at the open because it's going...
Read morePlace is SICK! Nice cozy space indoors. The minus is that if you're allergic to dogs, you probably do not want to come here as they are dog friendly. The dogs are a little loud at times, so if you have sensitivity to hearing, you may need to wear some earplugs. Also when they open up all the entrance and garage doors during beautiful weather, some customers hanging around outside are smoking, and the wind is unfortunately blowing back into the establishment. Didn't want to spoil the lively atmosphere by complaining.
They have a wide variety of brewed beers at the location with some amazing rice crispy treat flavors. Only thing I would suggest new customers is when trying to order a drink, you can only order at one end of the bar. The bartenders on that side will ask if they can help me, and I say I wanna buy a drink, then they direct me to the other end of the side. Just tell me straight up to go over to the other side, instead of asking me how to assist me. Short-haired bartender was nice. The long darker-haired lady with glasses kind of seems moody. Little annoying, but new place. Will give another shot. The beer...
