I am so disappointed in the customer service here. I have ordered 5 times with this and without fail they have messed up every single order of mine. The two most recent orders were terrible. They sent us all of the wrong side orders, I called and asked to speak to the manager and the employee kept making excuses about why I couldn't and said that the manager would call back and he never did. My most recent order I asked for mild sauce and ordered a large family size platter, they put very spicy on the entire order and my guests couldn't even eat it because it was too spicy. I called immediately to rectify the order, I was told by Bobby that they would replace my order, he would put my name on a list so they would remember and to come call before I come in. Today I called and placed the order today, explaining the situation. I was told they would confirm with the manager and the order would be ready in 20 minutes. I sent a family member to pick up the order more than an hour later and it was a mess. The manager came on the phone and told me that they can't give a family platter for free and had a talk with the employees that they cannot give free orders even if they messed up. I offered to pay for half of the order, but it was such a huge inconvenience to wait even longer because they never made the order and didn't call us before we came to pick it up. Bobby is a great employee, he understands the importance of customer service. If you mess up orders as many times as they do here, the least you can do is offer your customer something to fix the situation. That wasn't the case today. This is the last time I'll be ordering any food from here and will never recommend...

I went here with my wife because we were looking for something different, and we will not be coming back. When we walked in, the guy behind the counter looked like he didn't want to be there. He had his earbuds in and was watching something on his phone. He also never greeted us and we had to find a menu on our phones, only after we were ordering did he look up and offer us a menu.

When looking at the grill behind him, it was coated in tin foil, which looks nasty. If you don't want to clean the grill, then don't be open. We ordered and went to look for a table, and with no one in there, you would think it would be easy to find something, but no, there was dirty trays with half-eaten food on several tables. When we did find a table, it was sticky and I had to wipe it down just to sit there.

Once we were sat, we looked at the silverware, and it was all dirty looking and unwrapped in a wooden-looking tray on the table. Also nasty. Our food came out, and it was underwhelming. My breast and wing were the size of my palm but the leg and thigh my wife got was very good looking. The yuca fries were the best thing we got, they were crispy and well cooked.

Once we finished out meal, we each went to the restroom and those were NASTY! Water everywhere, the door handles were dirty and sticky, and I didn't want to touch anything in there.

We will not be back and have told many of our friends to avoid this place, and I hope this review gets to people so they can...

Years ago, I was a big fan of peri peri chicken at the Nando's chain in the Washington DC area on trips there. I was eager to try The Port of Peri Peri when a couple of them opened here. It is counter service which is fine. The chicken is the star here, nicely marinated and fire-grilled. Yummy. Medium spicy is a good starting point; it is fairly spicy already. The sides were fine, some better than others.

Unfortunately, the space was not well attended to. There were puddles of water on the floor from dripping condensation from the exposed air conditioning ductwork. An empty table next to us had dirty dishes and chicken bones and it was not bussed the entire hour we were there eating. Other tables were wiped but didn't look especially clean. My wife said the customer rest room was a mess. The glass on the doors at the restaurant's entrance was dirty and smudged with a day's worth of finger and handprints. Staff stood around a lot, obviously they would have had time to do some cleaning and bussing. The TV was annoying and the noise from the equipment in the open kitchen was loud.

I recommend the food, but maybe stick...

I had an amazing dining experience at Port of Peri Peri! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of grilled goodness set the tone for what was to come. The ribs were the star of the show—so juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. What I loved most was the ability to customize the spice level to match my taste. Whether you’re a heat seeker or prefer a milder kick, they’ve got you covered. The Peri Mayo Corn was a delightful surprise. The creamy mayo paired with the smoky, charred corn was an absolute flavor bomb. And those Peri Fries? Easily the best fries I’ve had in a long time. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned with their signature peri spices—they’re addictive. Overall, the food, ambiance, and service were top-notch. Port of Peri Peri is now a go-to spot for me when I’m craving bold flavors and high-quality dishes. Highly recommend giving it a try!

It’s closest comparison is the South African chain Nando’s and perhaps that’s what tweaks my opinion and skews it. I’ve visited this location at least 4-5 times since it’s opened. By no means is mediocre. Each time I visit a part of me hopes it can replicate the slow marinade & char grilled execution of Portuguese inspired chicken. In the case here it’s like hoping that frozen store bought pizza can echo pizzeria made artisan pizza; the Port of Peru Peri gets close but it’s never a bullseye. Honorable mention. A couple other factors further my three star opinion, that being very dirty restrooms, unbused tables in a slow restaurant with sufficient staff, and over cooked and last minute sauce reliance for flavor vs. a slower marinade. To me 3 stars mean middle of the road, not bad, but not great. It’s still worth a go, just accept it for what it is.

It was my first time here . Were the food good no does it worth hick no the food quality is not bad cook good but it not worth that much money the sauce was not bad tough I paid 34 bucks for 2 pice chicken and some fries you can buy in retail store for 3 bucks and I even didn't eat my whole meal I'm not satisfied about this place at all I don't say I'll recommend it or not but if I would be dying from hunger and this place be the only place that you can eat I might go there but in normal day I would never ever go to this place waste of money instead go to Daves hot chicken and enjoy your tender with good quality food . And dont ask me about their utensils they were all dirty i swear i clean them by my self .Bs place
