I’ve been ordering and going to Kooma since at least 2011. It’s been one of my favorite places despite the insane pricing. I like to treat myself and my family every two to three weeks by going there and spending $150 to over $200 dollars on a meal. And some times the food is better than others but it’s usually always pretty good. But last night I placed an order for $199 and when I got it, it just looked off. The spicy tuna had mayo spilling out the side, the 007 roll didn’t have any spicy mayo in it and barely had any avocado on it. After just three pieces I decided I just couldn’t eat it, I felt like I was trying to choke down a spoiled tuna sandwich. It was the most disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. The spicy tuna rolls were just globs of mayo. So I called kooma today, not to ask for refund, just to see what they would say? And the guy that answered the phone was nice, even tho when I said I order there all the time he said I don’t think you do?! (kind of strange) He then handed the phone to his manager, and good grief, you would think me calling was the rudest thing in the world! She said if I wanted my money back they don’t do that, I should go through DoorDash, and after I told her I didn’t want my money back, I just was wondering what happened? She acted like she couldn’t be bothered. So I just told her I wouldn’t be ordering from there anymore and I hung up. If you’re going to eat from Kooma do it on the weekend, the foods way better, during the week there’s a huge drop-off. And don’t expect to pay under a hundred dollars if you’re even a little bit hungry. Also, be careful who you talk to over there, you might be bothering someone at a job they...

I came here last night (8.10.17) for my daughters birthday along with some of her friends. This is not my first time dining here but it will be my last. The food was ok but our server Andrew was very rude. He was very impatient and a few times he even shook his head in frustration at one of my daughters guest. She had items in front of her that he asked her to move so he could place food down but before she could completely clear her area he placed the bowl of food on top of her napkin shook his head and went on about his business. Shortly after that I inquired about a birthday desert for the birthday girl and he replies "we have candles but we don't do deserts for birthdays". Later while we were eating he asked to take some empty plates that was in front of us off the table and we said that was fine but after ordering two more items we continued to eat and talk and without permission he started clearing our table and reaching between the guest to remove the items without even asking if it was ok. At that point one of the girls said "he's sick of us". When I realized that one of my daughters guest (who was 14) was offended by his rude actions I then took the check so we could leave. My daughter was very excited to bring her friends to a restaurant that they had never been to before for her birthday but Andrew made it very uncomfortable to even want to stay for desert. We traveled about 35 minutes to eat here with a group of 14 and 15 year old excited girls who at the end of the night felt like we were a burden to Andrew. Customer service is very important when it comes to dealing with the public and even though the food was ok I'd rather spend my money where it is...

Tonight was not one of our best experiences at the restaurant. We are outside and enjoyed the atmosphere. That was the highlight of the night.

Our waiter Chad seemed very new and very behind the 8ball. We have our order for appetizers and our entree.

I ordered scallops three ways which were delicious and a bimbibap bowl.

My daughter ordered an avacado roll and a California roll

My wife ordered a SASHIMI sampler and a hamachi appetizer and a

The food came out: Only the scallops, miso and the edamame

We had to flag chad down to order a drink and ask about the juice flavors for my daughter.

Some time later my hot food comes out.

Other dishes were being served around our table with sushi and other menu items.

15 minutes goes by. I go in and talk to the hostess. More time goes by.

My wife goes in and finds the manager. While talking to the manager Chad comes over and argues and got aggressive with my wife.

Apparently there was a back up at the sushi- however I was sitting there waiting with my hot food…waiting for my wife and daughters food.

If any of this had been communicated to us about the backup or delay this could have been a much different experience.

At the end of the meal- there was no apology only one thing taken off the check. We’re not there for a discount- just communicate if there...

Delicious dinner at Kooma tonight… We tried as much as we could. We sat outside and it was a beautiful evening. Started with spring rolls, shumia, and yellowtail snapper sashimi. All of it so tasty. The spring rolls are especially yummy. The dumplings were so soft and light but full of flavor with a broth that’s so good it’s almost addictive. Next we ordered the rock shrimp and sweet potato roll. Such surprising flavor with the sweet potato, it’s almost like a desert roll. The rock shrimp packed an awesome punch of flavor also. Erin ordered the OMG roll and I had a special combination of hibachi that the chef approved for an up charge - steak, lobster, and shrimp. Minus a point for not having yum yum sauce but the sauce they have is savory and added to the flavor profile. By this time we were obviously stuffed to the brim. However, seeing as I had never tried mochi, we clearly had to get it. Glutton for punishment you know… Not my thing but still tasty. I ordered vanilla which is a safe flavor for me personally. Our server was giving 20 year old Paul Walker and it was his first night. Shout out Connor. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

I have been to all of the sushi restaurants in west chester and most of the surrounding sushi restaurants in the area. Kooma by far is the worst sushi restaurant I have ever been to. I am giving the restaurant an extra star for our waiter who did his best given the situation and the drinks. The restaurant itself must have been a club in its past life because the interior design is all club decor. The swanky music was distracting and almost an insult to Asian culture. I genuinely was confused on what they were going for. This restaurant is a Morimoto wannabe in my opinion and they missed the mark completely. This is the spot for drinks! Their drink selection is extensive and full of options. We ordered the yellowtail appetizer which was the highlight of the night. But we realized that our table had no soy sauce dishes let alone soy sauce. So when we asked our waiter he rushed over with the soy sauce. But then he struggled to find a soy sauce dish for us. HOW?!? I have never heard of a sushi restaurant that ran out of soy sauce dishes. We ordered a couple rolls which weren’t memorable. I would never come back to this restaurant.

My first time to Kooma. We had a reservation and got right in on our designated time. Hostess was polite and seated us. Server was polite. However, didn't know the food menu very well. The restaurant was failry clean. This is not a place for a quiet meal, it is very loud and the lights and color scheme give a njght club vibe. The drink menu is very extensive, many martini options (around $13-15). The short rib appatizer were so good. Edamame appitizer was also very good. We had a part of 6, our drinks and appatizers came out quickly (under 15 minutes). When ordering dinner we asked the server about specific menu items, and he did not know the ingredients of certain dishes. Our meals came 45 minutes after ordering them (the place was busy but not packed. Our meals were warm (meals that were meant to be warm). The sushi was good, not the greatest, but still very good. Our server only came once after we got our meals, and we had to ask for more water. The bathroom was clean with an exception of 1st stall being clogged.
