I can’t even begin to describe how accommodating Joanne Buege from Cake was for our Wedding. We got married on July 14th, 2018. We originally started with Bittersweet, but they weren’t open to any of our ideas and really didn’t seem to care. So we decided to try Cake and so very happy and fortunate we made the change. First, Joanne was able to meet with us on a day and time that was most convenient for us, and we were able to easily schedule an appointment without waiting a month. They hosted a great tasting with a wonderful presentation on flavor, structure, and logistics. We absolutely loved Joanne’s extremely creative ideas and appreciated how she balanced our original vision/concept with practicality with a very wide-open mindset. We originally wanted a galaxy cake or sometimes referred to as a mirror cake, one of the first items we dreamed of having when we first started wedding planning. She was able to work off the idea, and even though it was hard to do a multi-tiered cake using that kind of gloss, she offered to make us a separate “sweet-hearts” mirror cake along with the traditional multi-tiered wedding cake that complimented our original concept and wedding theme. Jo-Anne is not only an absolutely incredible baker, but also just a truly wonderful person. Having an amazing cake was one of the top 3 most important things for our wedding and she definitely did not disappoint! Honestly it was the best cake I think I have ever eaten, even more amazing than the tastings!! We didn’t even know where to start and she walked us through the flavor combinations she thought best fit us personally and our wedding vision, and we ended up choosing the first combination she named! When we saw the cake on our wedding day it was even more beautiful than I pictured, and exactly what we wanted. We even got chubby wubby wedding favors from her because after tasting the cake I knew they would not disappoint and our guests raved about them all weekend! We cannot thank Jo-Anne and the CAKE team enough! It was such a joy to meet and work with them. They made everything easy in what could have been a stressful time. We had delicious fun tasting all of the different flavors during the cake tasting. Jo-Anne was able to sketch out our perfect wedding cake design by only asking us a few questions. We really appreciated what felt like special treatment and her personal touches (We love the idea of passing our cake topper down to other generations and hope to be able to do this in the future).
