My wife & I stayed here 2 see Gabriel Iglesias/Fluffy. This had been planned for quite some time due to Pandemic. We set aside $2,500 to simply blow for our first time in Chicago, not counting what we ACTUALLY should have been charged for hotel, so many things were to be done. We had already paid $900 for the best view at his show but, this hotel stole every last dime the morning of our second day. I used my bank card for the first night's stay, the rest of the fun money was in a second account which my wife used for the second night. Over the course of only a few hours, we watched in disbelief as NINE SEPARATE transactions across BOTH these accounts were drained of $2,390 plus the actual $400 paid for both nights, almost $3,000 in total. We went down to speak to the desk as it was happening but the assistant manager was vile and rude, did NOTHING and even was blaming us. Ultimately the head manager comped our entire stay, made other gestures and the money taken returned 5 days later making us whole, exactly what should be the end result but, too little, too late. Our entire time was spent fighting with the hotel, ourselves some because who else and WALKING everywhere due to no uber money. I cannot see how what happened is even possible. Why would 2 accounts be charged at all? Why would 2 accounts be charge 7 more times than necessary for a 2 night stay and equal overcharging/STEALING $2,390? No one can explain. Place wasn't dirty. Desk staff was awesome. Assistant Manager needs fired. Room Service? Maybe it's just us but, menu was lacking and what there was, disgusting. White Castle was the best meal we had while there. Just make sure to lock your bank card somehow so it can't ruin your trip. We regret staying here. We plan to go back but, we have 5 children so, we're not rolling in cash, it'll take awhile so, unless the HEAD Manager is an actual man of his word and does what he promised my wife but, even still, have to bank the fun money again!

This is a wonderful hotel to stay at, especially if you want to be close by the United Center. The hotel is about .8 miles away from the United center, so it is definitely walking distance so you don't have to bother with a rental car or uber (which can be impossible to get one quickly after an event at the United center). This hotel is great, especially for the price. The rooms are definitely smaller than most hotel rooms, however it was perfect for me and my fiance. We had a room with a queen bed, and they also include an almost full size fridge, a microwave, and a rather long desk and chair for anyone who needs a desk space. The hotel offers free coffee, tea, and ice water in the lobby, and they also have a couple of games and a computer and printer in the lobby. The hotel staff were also wonderful! They were so kind and always seemed happy to see us. This hotel was definitely perfect for 2 people to a room, so if you have anyone more than that I would definitely recommend more than one room for multiple people. They don't have much room around the bed for someone to sleep on the floor, so a third or fourth person would definitely do better with another room. Also before you blindly book a room make sure you check the type of bed the room has! When we arrived we heard a family who had managed to book a room for the three of them with only a full size bed. You have to go and look at the different room types to make sure you get one with the bed you want. They offer rooms with bunk beds, just a twin bed, a full size bed, a queen bed, and a king bed. Always double check before booking that you picked the one that best suits you, since they do explain it in the room description.

Arrived on 8/8 at 10:30pm to check in for a 2-night stay (was in town for a concert, so most nearby hotels were booked or very expensive). Was assigned a room on the 4th floor. Went to room, discovered the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke, the room door was blocked open with a bag of trash and a pile of linens on the floor. There were no staff around in that room. I returned to the front desk and they assigned me a different room on the 2nd floor. That room seemed ok, so I went to bed. Around 12:30am, my door slammed partially open, only staying "closed" by the security latch. I called out, and my door closed. Minutes later, the room phone rang and it was the front desk saying that they had no knowledge of anyone staying in this room and asking who I was. I gave my name and repeated the story of my check-in. They apologized and said they did see that in the system, and to return to sleep. I had a very fitful night, jerking awake with every sound. In the morning, I spoke to the manager who comped the previous night's stay. He stated that they had some computer issues which caused the hotel to double assign my room to other guests. As a single woman traveling alone, I told him did not feel safe staying there any longer after that, especially as there was no way to lock the door. He apologized, said he would comp the previous night and cancel tonight's stay and give me a full refund. No other assistance was offered. I had to scramble to find a different (more expensive) hotel for the night, which was further away from the venue.

I am so happy I found this charming hotel located by Rush Medical center! First of all I was in a tight crunch to find a pet friendly boutique hotel and check in here with my dog and cat was a breeze! In fact the gentleman who helped me check in had someone else help me with all my belongings so the cab driver would not overcharge me too much. At first I was shown a real small room that I knew might not be a good fit for my huge mountain dog so the front desk manager let me use the handicap room since it was a lot more spacious for my pup. Honestly all the pet friendly rooms will be on the teeny tiny side because only the first floor will allow animals and the upper floors which have larger rooms (slightly) are for people without pets since people have allergies. While you are here take full advantage of the 10 percent discount at the Tavern directly across the street and at Angels which is just around the corner and extremely close. I only regret that no one informed me that I could receive a 10 percent discount at Angels so maybe upon checking in the front desk can mention BOTH dining out options. The location is great because there are so many great eateries, bakeries, grocery stores and pet shop in the West loop and in Greektown all within walking distance of this cute hotel. Another benefit of being here is the staff is young, upbeat, personable and very helpful. On the downside this hotel is not completely savvy with anyone who has pets and who requires extended stays. My room was not cleaned or freshened up daily and that was hard on me because I do suffer from sinus issues and allergies. It would have been great if I could have had the floor sweeped and my bed changed daily but this did not happen. The bed I slept in was comfortable but very a small full sized bed and the pillows way too hard for my liking. Another issue that was hard for me to handle was the fact that right behind my room there is a stairwell and people staying at the hotel were going up and down the stairs and shouting quite a bit so the door would slam really loudly day and night. There is no chair and desk for your computer in the handicap room just a small table that pulls out for you. The decor here is modern and quite comfortable but to me the pillows were a bit hard since i prefer a softer feather pillow. The other problem here is the hotel itself is NOT sound proof at all so you hear people upstairs stomping in their rooms, you hear guests screaming and you hear housekeeping laughing pretty early in the morning. If sounds do not bother you you won't mind a bit. Like I said the location is great and you only have to take a train or a taxi to get downtown in less than fifteen minutes. The hotel is a great value but the rooms are very tiny so you have to compromise. On two separate occasions warm belly cookies were served to the guests and that was truly sweet! This hotel has a charming and happy vibe but very very noisy so you have pros and cons. Another pro though is my room had a window I could open up wide for fresh air so this was perfect for me! Great hotel, great price but honestly noisy and housekeeping needs to improve. If you have pets there is a small pet fee upon check in but if you own a huge dog you will need to take long walks as the rooms...

Trust me on this. I'm a contractor and I stay here for work every week. I know everything about this place and have stayed in at least 10 different rooms. Do not stay here if you have a choice.

All of the rooms have the most horrificly uncomfortable pillows I've ever felt. They are stuffed with very hard, large balls of cotton. I now travel with a camping pillow which is also uncomfortable but I can at least sleep through the night. The mattresses are not nice and the sheets/pillowcases are low quality and scratchy, for the most part. I have stayed in at least 100 hotels in the last decade and I've never been this uncomfortable or struggled to fall/stay asleep.

The worst part about most of the rooms is how dirty they are. The cleaning staff does not clean the floors between guests or the showers. Most of the shower drains have had hair in them and the floors are quite dirty and the dirt gets easily tracked onto the bed. Further, almost all of the rooms have significant damage to furniture, many scuffs on the walls, uneven floors. This is not even mentioning how poorly the rooms are designed and how small they are. For some reason, the rooms have a full size refrigerator even though they are extremely small.

I have killed many bugs since I have been staying here. All different kinds but mostly spiders and a few centipedes. I'm not too scared of bugs but it's worth mentioning since I figured it might be more critical for some to know.

The walls and ceilings are paper thin and you literally hear everything. Plus there are no carpets. If the person above you walks, you hear very loud creaking as if they weigh 800 pounds. Trust me. I'm not kidding. Luckily this can be avoided by staying on the top floor, if you can.

Several times I've stayed here the internet and/or cable have been out for extended periods.

One night the owner and his buddies were visiting. They parked their Ferraris and Lamborghinis out front for a while. Must be a capitalist.

I can go on.

I really have no idea how people are leaving such glowing reviews. In reading them, it doesn't seem as if they've actually been here or stayed here. Perhaps they are friends or relatives or they were edited in exchange for something. Honestly that's all I can think of.

I rarely complain about anything but I figured this was a public service since the reviews are so clearly fabricated for this place. If you read this and still decide to stay here, you'll find out the same things...

I had made a reservation through their website a month in advance for a room. After making the reservation, I never got a confirmation- only a link to check into the room that did not include any date for my reservation. When I showed up at the hotel a month later, they did not have my reservation and after 10 minutes of going back and forth with the man at the counter, we discovered that by mistake I had made my reservation for the day I had booked it, not a month out. I never realized I had made the mistake because like I said, I got no confirmation email, no call from the hotel, and nothing in my email included the date or else I would have called to cancel and reschedule. I ended up buying another room that night that was more expensive than my initial booking. The man told us to talk to the manager in the morning for a refund. While in the lobby the next morning, the manager, Abraham, was helping another customer with the same issue that we had and told them to come back down the next morning for them to discuss a refund. I was in a hurry to leave the hotel, so I couldn’t wait to be helped. I called the hotel about an hour later, and the woman who answered the phone was very disrespectful to me on the phone and gave me so much attitude when I was just trying to find a solution. I was directed to leave him a voicemail for him to get back to me. He never called me back, so I called again and he basically told me he needed by boyfriend to call since the initial reservation was under his name. My boyfriend has been calling at least once a week for the last month since we were at this hotel to get reimbursed for a room WE DID NOT EVEN STAY IN and nobody has returned our calls or tried to fix the situation. I understand they are a business and trying to make money and it is my fault that I booked the hotel for the wrong day, but it was an honest mistake, I was never notified about my error, and had NO way of realizing I had booked it for the wrong day since the email I received had no date on it (only a check in link), I’m very disappointed with the lack of customer service and accommodation I have...
