Disappointing Coffee Experience: at Colectivo Cofee

Colectivo's ambiance and location are undoubtedly appealing, providing a pleasant environment for patrons to enjoy their beverages. The cozy atmosphere and convenient location create an inviting space for coffee enthusiasts to relax or work.

Coffee Quality: Regrettably, the highlight of any coffee shop experience, the coffee itself, falls far short of expectations at Colectivo. In this instance, the espresso Frappuccino failed to deliver on its promise of rich, satisfying coffee flavor. Instead, it lacked any discernible coffee taste, leaving the customer feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. This significant discrepancy between expectation and reality represents a significant downfall for the establishment.

Customer Service: Perhaps the most egregious aspect of the experience at Colectivo was the subpar customer service encountered when attempting to rectify the coffee issue. Upon politely requesting a remedy for the lackluster beverage, the response from the staff was shockingly indifferent and unhelpful. Instead of acknowledging the error and offering a solution, the customer was met with a suggestion to purchase an additional coffee for an exorbitant price. This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and attempt to upsell an already subpar product is unacceptable in any service-oriented industry.

Conclusion: Overall, my inaugural visit to Colectivo proved to be a disappointing and disheartening experience. Despite the appealing ambiance and convenient location, the fundamental aspect of any coffee shop—the quality of the coffee—fell short of expectations. Moreover, the lackluster customer service, characterized by indifference and an attempt to capitalize on a customer's dissatisfaction, further diminished the overall experience. I wanted to write this review as somebody who used to work at this location. Upper management is very uncaring and does not advocate for their employees. One of my coworkers and friends who was the only black woman there was fired for attendance issues when she was hospitalized and grieving the loss of a close friend. They 100% targeted her, while allowing a middle aged white woman to stay hired after repeatedly leaving her shifts early and yelling at customers and employees. They are racist and out of touch with the humanity in their employees. They do not view us as full human beings with lives and feelings and relationships and obligations outside of this billion dollar corporation. They see us as little worker mules who's lives literally revolve around this coffee shop and have no other obligations, traumas, medical issues, etc.

If you come here, come for the employees. They are wonderful and you should tip them generously because they work hard, make amazing drinks and food, and are very under appreciated. Some of the best people I have ever worked with and they will make sure your food and drinks are made...

My wife and I were so excited to visit this place. I rarely, if ever, write poor reviews but we had such a rough experience back in March. We came just before the lockdown and they forgot my order. The staff acted annoyed to make it for me then placed it without putting in a straw, like they did with every other customer. I didn't want to reach over as I understood new measures were taking place to be sanitary and avoid customers grabbing a straw container. They walked away as I asked for one, so after waiting another minute being stared at by everyone, I reached for one and got called out by the employee. I trust that it was just a bad day and people were scared looking for a scapegoat. The drinks itself were delicious and my wife and I loved the setting, but in the start of the pandemic, as an Asian-American, I felt terrible and my wife stepped out saying, "wow." My wife says Collectivo was her first experience seeing the discomfort of being married to an Asian directly.
