Nestled in a prime location in Chicago, Flo offers a seamless combination of urban convenience and culinary excellence. Its industrial-chic décor—highlighted by a classic wood-paneled bar—sets the tone for a relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience. With attentive service, expertly crafted drinks, and dishes that strike a balance between bold flavors and comforting familiarity, Flo delivers on all fronts. The meal began at the bar with two standout cocktails: the Golden Child Margarita and a Bloody Mary. The Margarita adhered to a classic recipe, eschewing excessive sweetness for a well-balanced profile that felt refreshingly natural—a flawless choice for a brunch drink. The Bloody Mary, by contrast, packed a bold, peppery punch, proving it can hold its own against any Chicago brunch cocktail. Service started off steady, if unremarkable. I couldn’t help but note my tendency to watch the order in which patrons are served—a small, likely unreasonable expectation I tend to hold. However, that initial hesitation proved unfounded as the experience unfolded. Food arrived astonishingly fast—under ten minutes—rendering any earlier misgivings irrelevant. The dishes themselves were visually stunning and generously portioned. My egg sandwich arrived on perfectly toasted bread, layered with just the right amount of savory ingredients, and was accompanied by crispy, flavorful potatoes. My partner’s chilaquiles with chorizo, meanwhile, were a showstopper: saucy, spicy, and bursting with flavor. Every bite of both dishes reinforced Flo’s attention to quality and balance. As the meal progressed, the bartender’s precision and timing became undeniable. Drinks were expertly paced to enhance the dining experience, and their skillful management of the bar added a touch of professionalism that elevated the visit. One delightful surprise was Flo’s trio of house sauces, each offering a unique profile to complement the meal. The standout was the fudge amarillo, a vibrant blend of garlic and carrots that added depth and complexity to every bite—a testament to how a thoughtful condiment can transform a dish. In the end, Flo is more than a brunch spot; it’s a testament to how impeccable timing, bold flavors, and a welcoming atmosphere can come together to create a flawless dining experience. Whether you’re a stickler for the little things or simply in search of great food and drink, Flo is sure to impress.

Such a great brunch spot! Had the veggie burrito with black beans subbed for eggs and it was FABULOUS! We all had the green Bloody Mary’s and they are so good! Also the skillet with black beans subbed for egg. One of us had the breakfast with eggs and they were done to perfection! This place continues to be worth the wait! This was our second visit here! It’s usually on the must do list every time we visit Chicago. The Bloody Mary, either red or green, are amazing with the homemade bacon bourbon! Their special chilaquiles are always delicious as is the skillet! You can easily substitute black beans or avocado for eggs. Usually there’s a wait, and it’s so worth the wait. Service was excellent! Their smoothies are really top notch also! I love a good savory breakfast/brunch/lunch! This is a really AWESOME spot!

As an alumni of UNM, brunch misses the mark for me. The potatoes served with both dishes were so bland they don't scream New Mexico with that love of chile. Honestly a little more salt would have helped, but there isn't any good flavor for something that takes half the plate. I would argue the breakfast burrito doesn't compare to what you actually find in New Mexico. Egg Bacon or sausage or adobada (which is on the menu) Hash Red or green Cheese That's it. On top of that the green chile cheese burger was dry. That green and red sauce on the table is amazing though. I'll give it another shot for a dinner visit to scratch that New Mexico cuisine craving, but I'm still searching for a comparable Blake's breakfast burrito.

Guys, you have to try this place out. So let's start with parking. It's street parking and paid as well. One might find it hard pressed to find a decent spot. So please be prepared to drive around the block couple of times. At least this was my experience to get a spot and when I did get a spot, I got it right in front of the door of flo. Guess I lucked out.

We had about a 20 minutes wait time to be seated. Not their fault. The place was packed. Inside was clean and the atmosphere was even better. I was not very impressed with the outside, especially the door. Found it a bit dirty and unkept. Noticed that they put water bowls for pets outside and that was reassuring and satisfying. When I saw that, I already gave them 3 stars in my mind.

Service: I have to say the service was super nice. It was a busy day for them but I found that they still maintained a pleasant attitude and demeanor. They were consistent across the board to everyone. That shows focus and commitment to their profession and that they care about how they treat others and care about their reputation. All these are signs of good people and not of people who revel in their I DONT CARES. They were super nice and most importantly patient. We had a baby (17 mos old) who loves to wave at people. She wouldn't stop waving but the hosts and hostesses at flo were super nice and interacted and responded to the baby every time. We did tell them to feel free to ignore after the first couple of times coz it was a busy day and baby or not,.you don't wanna test a person's patience. However they were happy to respond to the baby with a smile

Something striking that happened was, baby was waving to our hostess who hadn't noticed it. Another host pointed it out to her and reminded that the baby is waving. All in all, loved the service and the atmosphere.

Food: Service and food is the reason I wanted you guys to try this place out. Amazing list of choices and fairly priced as well. The portions are really filling but that I guess is subjective. However on average the portions are really good. Almost all the order comes with eggs on it and some with beans. The sauces you see in the picture was really tasty and amazing. They really did a great job. That soda in tbe picture,.it was my first time and I loved it instead of a regular beer, this was something different. I think it's got about 5% alcohol. Not sure but please check it out if you can. It's sweet but still got a kick to it and goes well with spicy food. We ordered hueavos rancheros and heauvo yerdes. Forgive my spelling guys but when you look at the menu you will see what I mean. The yerdes was with chorizo and rancheros with chicken.

Overall I am giving a 5 star. I wanna give them 4 star actually and not because they don't deserve 5 but to avoid complacency and lose a great joint with great service. However it's also a growing joint and I'm sure they can use all the help they can get to grow. So please check it out guys and do post some pictures and let us know....

I went here on a first date this past weekend after seeing Flo on a list of best places for brunch in Chicago. As soon as we were sat, our waitress immediately came over and asked for our drinks order, which she dropped off soon after. A few minutes later, she was back asking what we'd like to eat. We weren't ready (as we'd been chatting) and the server said she'd give us a few more minutes. I remember saying to my date, "I'd better look at the menu before she comes back again" and, lo and behold, a few minutes later she was back, asking if we were ready to order again. We were, with my date ordering the French toast and I the portabella tacos. The food arrived very quickly soon after. My tacos were adequate. Not bad, but nothing to write home about.

What bothered me about Flo is the service. Our server came over way too frequently. My date and I were having a conversation and she would interrupt us without waiting for a sentence to finish. Very rude.

This bothersome attention was because the server was rushing us through brunch so she could turn her tables over faster. We hadn't even finished our meals before the check was dropped off, which meant our waters and coffee were empty and our server completely disappeared until she came over to tell us it was time to leave as there was a line. We were barely in the restaurant an hour. Definitely not the relaxed brunch I was hoping for.

I'll be honest, I won't be returning to Flo and I plan to tell my friends to stay away. A server should never flat out ask me to leave but I guess because she'd already been given her tip, we weren't worth her time. Incredibly...
