Koko's food is delicious, but the customer service is terrible. One of the young ladies who was working at the register on Sunday evening (May 22) was not being friendly. She took my order (a combo meal with french fries and a fountain drink. And an order of six chicken wings, she asked me what kind of wings, I said buffalo). I paid. She did not ask me if I wanted my receipt nor did she hand over my fountain cup drink after I PAID for my combo meal and wings. I waited to the side for my food, and she took more customers' orders at the register. I heard her ask the other customers "Would you like your receipt?" They said no, and then she handed over their fountain cup drinks (even though they didn't ask for their cups) – she just randomly handed them their fountain cup drinks. Apparently she picks and chooses to which customers she wants to hand over the fountain cup drinks right away. Very unprofessional of her. Once my food was all set on the tray, I went to go sit down at a table. I noticed that my buffalo chicken wings didn't come with a dipping sauce. So I walked over to the register and told the young lady that they forgot to put a dip sauce, on my tray, for my chicken wings. She told me that it was already included, she told me that the dip sauce was on top of the chicken wings (which was the buffalo sauce). Apparently she was trying to be "smart" about it and she ended up charging me at the register for one ranch dipping sauce. This young lady was...
Read moreI am going to disagree with the comment below. I moved into the area about a year ago and was excited to try Koko's Mediterannean Grille. Before I went in, I checked the Yelp reviews to see other people's feedback, and since they were all positive, I decided to check it out for myself and I am glad I did. I didn't even recognize the place inside, they remodeled it so nicely with all new everything. The staff was very polite and welcoming (and spoke English very well, believe the owners told me they were Greek). I decided to order both the chicken wrap and felafel pita sandwich with a side order of hummus and chips. Delicious! You could tell the pride they put in the food when they cook and serve it to you, quality. They are also super great at substituting different sides for you if you don't want the one that comes with the meal. I also went last weekend again with my buddies after a long night of partying for their breakfast (thank God they are open at 6 a.m.), also great! I had the Mediterranean Omelet and my buddies, I believe, had the bacon egg sandwich. All I can say is I will definitely be back for more well priced and delicious food. Glad they came into the...
Read moreWhen there are so many Greek Spots all over Chicago it's hard to just eat at one. You gotta try em' all. Unfortunately, you end up at this place, Koko's. The staff is very friendly providing me a FREE fountain drink on my 1st visit, the DRAFT beer is $3 and the dinning room is a good size with 2 TVs.
BUT THE FOOD...It is NOT up to their competitor's quality. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Salad. The salad part was great. Lots of greens, red onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes (missing feta). The pita bread was too crispy and NOT soft. The Chicken Shawarma was very dry and most of my of pieces were very small and charred. The chicken did not taste fresh as it was NOT freshly sliced from the cone of meat, but rather placed on the flat top from the presliced container where the chicken was stored. Also, the gyro meat (lamb beef mix) was overcooked with many crunchy edges. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the meat here and don't know if I will return especially with the all the other greek spots in town to...
