It's finally here and open! Waited patiently since the opening news on Instagram. I can't believe how good this is and I can't wait for more store opening in WIlmette and Arlington Heights. With bright yellow wall, location was easy to find on Taylor St. Parking can be challenging, but one should expect when coming to this area. I visited Saturday morning of soft opening (grand opening was supposed to be the next day but is delayed). There wasn't a line when I went in, but as soon as I finished ordering, there was a rush and a line was quickly formed. It was a bit crazy since it was soft opening, with workers yelling what is out and needs to be fulfilled. I'm glad I beat the rush of waiting in line.

The interior is beautiful with bright decor. Wall art is very "Instagram worthy" and attractive. Current prices are 1 piece: $3.75; $10 for 3 pieces; $19 half dozen; $36 one dozen. I ordered a dozen & half dozen to share. Mochi donut is perfect chewy, perfect sized, and it's so beautiful. I think my order next time will change from today's taste test. Here's what I got, based on what is available this day: -matcha: my typical preference. It definitely tasted like matcha. To my surprise, the after taste is bitter from matcha. I would definitely order again -original: surprised it's topped with fruit pebbles. I hate food colored cereal so this wasn't my fave. -strawberry: nice flavor. Doesn't taste too fake, but is on the sweet side, as one should expect from the pink glaze -passion fruit: I love the smell of it. Smells super sweet and topped with a gummy teddy bear. On the sweeter side as well, but you can also expect from the colored glaze on top. -raspberry funnel cake: wouldn't be my typical order but this was my favorite. Perfect balance of mochi donut and hint of fruit flavor. -almond chocolate: (I didn't get to try due to a nut allergen in the family but -chocolate glaze looked super good!) -churro: felt dry compared to others, probably since it has no topping or glaze on top. It wasn't as strong of cinnamon flavor as I've expected; I'm not a big fan of cinnamon flavor. -chocolate churro: similar to churro except with some chocolate syrup drizzle. I also ordered 3 drinks but didn't like that I couldn't customize sugar level.

I would order a variety next time again and hopefully they will have more flavors next time I'm there. See you...

Skip the donut! Have the half and half Hot Dog "corn dog"!!! You'll never have another chance to eat a ramen noodle corn dog! Amazing....

Loved the potato half cheese half hotdog. The breading is the bomb! The cheesy goodness is amaze. Don't know how the tatertot like coating stays on so well. They are like a huge corn dog on steroids and way better.

Also tried the RAMEN hot dog... I think this was a close favorite. Again, don't know their coating secrets, but you MUST TRY.

There are several boba or bubble tea type drinks available. I had the Thai Tea. It's was ok, not the best. The tapioca was tender fresh and a very slight black licorice tinge...

The mochinut donuts taste great and many flavors, they remind me of a dainty elephant ear with bright flavors. They are just really expensive for what you get. They are small and 3 for $10 for what you get is a little pricey. But try one for sure.

I'm going back for a hot dog and I...

These are some very good donuts made from rice flour which gives it a unique texture. Its slightly denser that flour donuts, but a great chew. I luv the creativity in the types of donut flavors that can be made. These type of donuts take on the flavors of the ingredients used to top these creations.

Additionally, they are not overly sugary sweet (even when drizzled like their churro donut) and tend to be a bit smaller though they are consistent in size and shape. My only drawback is that the price is a bit higher than other donuts with a bit more mass.

Nonetheless, their lemon mochinut was the perfect sweet and zing. Nutella was sweet and silky. The chocolate churro was just right on the sugar drizzle.

Im sure their corndogs are as good as Kong Dog but did not try at this establishment. The space was homie and fairly sparse but...

Can’t believe mochi donuts have finally landed in Chicago. This unique donut is an absolute must for everyone. The crispy, chewy donut is an absolute must. I personally love the more subtle flavors like matcha, strawberry funnel, etc and found the passion fruit overwhelmed the actual donut. Store opened at 10:30am on Saturday and I was third in line but the time I left there was a line forming out the door. Would recommend getting there early if you don’t want to wait in line. This store will probably need a better system if they are to get more visitors. Boxes made ahead of time will help move the lines faster. Still I think I’d wait in line for 30 mins for their tasty treats!!! Limited flavors are offered daily.
