Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

Grand opening day was a good experience. It took a couple of minutes to be greeted though. I ended up ordering The Original sandwich + salad meal deal. About $14. Bread was good. It was just how I remember it. So good. Fast forward to today. I was looking forward to my meal all day. I go in, again, have to wait a few minutes to be greeted. Then I ask for the SAME meal. The Original Sandwich meal deal with a salad instead of chips. She stares at me and says “you can only get chips with the meal deal.” I said, but I got it last week? And she said, well I can ring it all up separately. So, she charges me $9 for the sandwich and then $4 extra for the meal deal, essentially for just a drink, and then an additional $5 for a salad. $18? Ummm no. So, I got the sandwich and chips. Sandwich comes out and the bread is crusty as hell. And she gave me the wrong chips. It was just a miss on ALL marks today. It’s too bad they didn’t keep the same energy of the grand opening day.

Update to their response: I went on their website to try to order the sandwich and side salad and it gives me the option. (See the 3rd photo). So, I’m confused why there are two different options for in person and online? Or why I know the menu better...

I had the beefy cheesy sandwich on jalapeno bread I believe it comes with bacon and some sauce on it... very good. Im going to attempt to try something different once a week until I work my way through the entire menu. I also had the strawberry lemonade which was very good very refreshing. It tastes as if they use fresh strawberries or atleast a really good damn puree or syrup. Im not sure if there are some mixups between online ordering and what the store receipt prints out. When I picked up my order it was a lemonade with the order and not a strawberry lemonade that id paid for when I ordered online. I didnt need the cashier pointing to the tag on the bag correcting me that it says classic lemonade when clearly my receipt from my online order states strawberry lemonade. I also got to try a cup of macaroni and cheese, I didnt order it but it was placed in my bag. So they should be a little more careful with bagging orders. It was really really good and dare I say it, it may just be a strong rival with chick fil a Mac and cheese. I've tired of eating everything else in that area so its refreshing to have a completely different...

Amazing Lunch Experience!

I just had The Original Deluxe sandwich half portion with a Cobb salad half portion for lunch, and it was absolutely fantastic! Every single bite was a delight.

What truly stood out was the texture of Schlotzsky's bread. It's unique, perfectly toasted, and adds an incredible dimension to the sandwich. It's not just bread; it's an integral part of the experience. Beyond the delicious food, the service was excellent. Everyone was very attentive. I loved my meal so much that I'm already planning my next visit to try more of their sandwiches!...
