San Jose Restaurant — Restaurant in West Columbia

We have been going to this restaurant every weekend now for quite some time. Only because the food is great. However the service is absolutely HORRIBLE! None of the employees speak Englishj. They wouldn't serve my 30 year old fiancé a beer because he forgot his wallet and WE ARE THERE EVERY WEEKEND. But we understood and looked past it. Then they wouldn't even give him a regular drink. We all ordered our drinks and food. When our food came out they only brung 3 plates and 3 drinks. So I asked them where my finances water was. The other 3 of us began eating our food assuming his would be right out behind it. WRONG! We were almost done eating and hadn't been checked on a single time, So we waved Yeah over the waiter like "hey are y'all gonna give him his food or what". And the woman who was our waitress acted like she had no clue what we were talking about and walked away. Then a male came over a few minutes later and asked what we wanted and we told him that we were almost done and he still hadn't gotten his food. So the guy says oh it will be right out, so my fiancé told them to just make it to go because at this point everyone else was finished eating. And I said bring the tickets while you're at it. So they brought the tickets and then brought his food and we had the tickets ready when the guy brought the food out and he just walked off. So we sat there another 15 min holding up the tickets and no one would come get them. All the employees were all sitting in the corner laughing and playing around. So the other guy that was eating with us was very annoyed by this time and said "what the hell is going on? are we eating for free tonight or what" and the little Mexican guy got a nasty attitude with him and came over and snatched our tickets and cards off the table and I asked for a box for my leftovers. When he returned, the guys had already went to the car at this point because they were so infuriated. So me and the other girl got the cards and signed the receipts. We were no way in hell leaving tips! I packed my food in my box and went to get up and knocked over a cup of ice(note I am 7 1/2 months pregnant and was sliding out from the inside of the booth seat) and one of the little Mexican guys ran at me yelling and fussing waiving his hands around(I couldn't even make out what he was saying) so I just laughed and me and the girl walked out. By far the absolute WORST experience of my entire life. As I said we go to eat here every weekend and we were treated like pure dirt. Never once got an apology. Several people sitting around us said that we should not have even paid for our meals with the way we were treated and stated that they will not return after witnessing that! We surely will not be back to eat there ever again! Our group will just search for a different...

This was my worse visit out of very many. The waiter did like the fact that he could not understand me. Why I do not know but it was tough for me also. But he seemed angry. Also he told me my order had queso cheese on it when I got the Beef burrito not a drop to be found. Everytime with the usual waiter or one of the three I knew I always had been satisfied and tipped very well. This time I went with someone else and they said 3 times that guy is angry. Next the food was very different than the last 12 times I have been. The person I went with said the same thing it was way to spicy hot not normal for a Double Burrito Deluxe both Beef. It tasted very hot, almost no taste just spice,. I asked him for more Salsa to dilute the pepper or Chile on it he grumbled and did not come back. Another waiter came by we asked him he sent our waiter out to us and he finally filled my tea from empty to full again. And ce back with my salsa to dilute the hot peppers hopefully. Could not understand what happened with us or did something happen to him before we got there.? Idk so the service and food were horrible. In fact the worse experience eating Mexican food ever, this waiter was not helpful but my fried said that this guy maid the hot his own self he believed. The Tea was delicious but I did not go for the damn tea. Last visit to my favorite bragged upon Mexican restaurant. Was proud they were so good. But something has happened and it is not the same. # 1 the waiter was rude and incompetent and the food was bad. This time I drove and look forward to eating there. But I will never go to San Joses in Lexington again. No more bragging how good they are. Because it was below average. Food and service. Going to find new Max Restaurant. Not waisting my money again. To many others around. So this is not worth the time. Bad attitude waiter service and food was way off the norm. Obviously others feel the same we thought they were closed only 2 other people were there. Anyway don't be wasting time here. This guy rushed us and there was only 2 other people so he was not rushed. I give up on them. Waiter slack and lazy. But fast to stay away from us. He looked angry. First let me say That I love Mexican food...., but let me be candid. This place could be much better. Monday, 5/25/2020 was our 51st wedding anniversary. So after picking up my son from his job we went out to eat. We ordered and things went well. I always eat the same thing ( bean burrito and rice on the side . I request no red sauce but the cheese sauce instead; with chopped raw onion on top.) The cheese sauce was watered down from the usual. Very thin. Afterward when I got the check , it stated $40.08 Ok no big deal. I give our waiter my debit card and he brings back the receipt for me to sign. But NOW the check total is different. It reads $ 41.69 !!!! A $1.61 difference. Sometimes you can overlook a thin cheese sauce or such , but to openly deceive is unacceptable. ( Not Cool) I asked to speak to the manager. (She was not there) I was brought a telephone. After I explain my complaint, she proceeds to tell me that I need to read the signs on the entrance door. My rebuttal is that the signs should be on the table or the waiters should tell the customer before the time of payment; otherwise it is a deceptive practice. She offers to refund if I pay by cash. But the refund can take up to 48 hours. For a $1.61 I will not be jump thru your suggested hoops and simply not return to this restaurant ever again. Plus write a review and let everyone know how much I dislike dishonesty. Why not give your customer a refund, an invite back, and a free soft. Drink or an apology ... be a cheerful thoughtful manager. Two star is actually better than...
