Westside Plaza Shopping Center — Local services in West Columbia

We visited Sally Beauty, Dollar Tree, and Hobby Lobby while here. The parking lot is huge, as it was once the home of Walmart before it became Walmart Supercenter.

The parking lot is often full of individuals who act as though they have forgotten how to drive, so be careful no matter which store you visit here.

I have also been a customer of Tasty Seafood and No. 1 China before. Tasty Seafood is more on the expensive side, but the quality is there. No. 1 China is in the corner, and while they were once really good for Chinese, my parents had a bad experience less than a month ago and got sick from the food. Of course, that could be an isolated thing.

Be careful driving in this parking lot, as other drivers really seem to forget how to drive properly once they get here. The whole area is relatively clean, but some of the well established stores of more than a decade are getting run down and could use updating.

Newest addition to the plaza is KJ's, but I avoid them due to high prices and lower quality fresh foods.

I really like the cooked food here. They lose 2 stars because their menu is in the twilight zone. What does that mean? It's stuck on repeat. The same stuff all the time and you get tired of it quickly. Great cooks, poor menu. You can make chicken a thousand different ways but they do the same fried, baked with Italian dressing, honey mustard chicken week after week, month after month, year after year. Went to Dollar Tree where the choices are great but the aisles are filled with boxes making it hard to stop and look at stuff! Went to KJ and oh what a difference from WallyWorld! Nice and bright, shelves stocked, no aisles blocked with stockers, very, very clean - the prices are higher but I wonder if I checked the flyer each week could I match Walmart?
