Summary: YIKES! (but delicious pizza)
I've been a frequent to Blaze Pizza at this location for almost 4 years now---it is my go to spot after work on Wednesdays or Fridays. Unfortunately, within the past month or so, several issues have risen that has highly affected my experience at Blaze. These past two visits, wait times have exceeded an hour from start to finish. My visit this evening from when I stood in line (which stretched out the door) to when I left the establishment took more than one hour and ten minutes for two pizzas when in the past, I was in and out in less than 20-30 minutes on a busier day. In another visit, they mixed up/gave a poor Doordash customer my pizza and I ended up getting theirs/the wrong pizza and had to wait for the staff to remake it again.
As a frequent, it's really disappointing---the food itself is still great but I personally cannot afford over an hour wait in line after a long day of work. THE STAFF THEMSELVES have acknowledged that they are overworked, stressed, and overwhelmed ever since Blaze took on the additional orders via Doordash, Postmates, and online orders. From a business consultant perspective I think this raises serious red flags that management has greatly failed to adequately address and should be concerned for if they want to reduce turn over and to maintain high staff morale. Right now, their works visually appear and have personally expressed they are miserable. Because they only have one work station for toppings, they constantly are not able to work on in person orders and don't have the counter space/enough workers to meet the number of orders with the added online delivery and food delivery ordering system. I hope things improve at this location---until then, I will be visiting other places...
Read moreHardly ever give 5 stars out but this particular location has done me good. I think the customer service can still improve a little bit. But for being so close to a mall right off the freeway this location holds there own as one of blaze best. What I really like about this location is that they don't b.s the customers. If you want it your way then you get it your way. They may not smile at your specific topping maddness or be ecstatic when you show up 5 min before closing but they don't turn you away. (Side note I have showed up to other locations and request certain preference and been rejected) this location manages to really put the customer first and always make your pizza the way you want it built. A true build your own location. Customer service today was good. I was in an out in 10 minutes. Parking is a bit tight but if you go off to the side then there is more available. Located right off the freeway and next to the West Covina mall. Restrooms are clean and there is no hassle if you just need to use the restroom and not even buy anything. I really like that blaze offers tons of deals and at least gives out a free pizza once a year minimum. Try the spicy red sauce next...
Read moreFirst, this isnt about me or anything. I just want to say how amazing this place is. I am the type that would buy a transient a meal, because money is just money. Not one to judge because sometimes maybe they arent in position they are in based of their own choices. But today, leaving blaze pizza, I saw a transient, outside, didnt bug for anything at all. I purchased our food, and asked him if he was hungry or thirsty. His response was " I could use a little of both, but not if your uncomfortable ". I walked him in, got in line, and ordered food and drink. The 2 gentleman working upfront. I believe karlos, (with a k they specified) and nati? I am sorry if I couldnt remember but he was working the oven and other was the register. They wouldnt accept a penny. They genuinely cared, and I have never seen this in all my years of doing this, even when I was in law enforcement. Those are the type of people that we need In society, and yes it's just a job at a pizza place, but the generosity and compassion they showed was utmost amazing. ...
