Brothers Bar — Restaurant in West Lafayette

Honestly wish I could give zero stars. I went to brothers just to have a drink with a friend on her birthday and was told I can’t come in. I usually don’t go to brothers in this town because of how they treat people. I gave it another chance and was EXTREMELY disappointed. Mind you I’m not one to be doing anything crazy at a bar to kick me out (like I said I never go there anyway so why this interaction I don’t know). I was fully clothed so it’s not like I was inappropriate, but as I was getting my ID checked, the general manager was doing everything to get the attention of his bouncer to say that we were not allowed in. Mind you my friend has NEVER been to any brothers in this country. All I could take was that we are black and not allowed. This was only deducted from the fact that everyone that we could see that was inside was white. The bouncer himself even asked why we couldn’t come in and the manager said “my bar, my choice”. I talked to my friends and family about this and they are very disappointed and don’t plan on supporting their business ever again. I really tried and wished it was better but you won’t be seeing our faces or wallets in there...

if I could give 0 stars I would. I've been going to brothers for 5+ years bringing any friend that comes to town to, however this visit I was stopped by a "bouncer" who was dressed in camo short shorts a purdue shirt and a cowboy hat smoking a cigarette. this person told me he would check my ID outside while surrounded by multiple ppl he was currently talking to, like any random person on the street, he never once said he worked for brothers or showed any proof that he did and when I challenged him about it he said I wasn't allowed in and put his hands on me, which legally bouncers are not allowed to do he is supposed to call the cops if he has an issue. do not go here extremely violent...

This place is just average for me. Sometimes they have decent drink specials; mostly for cheap girly shots. It's become the spot for frat boys and sorority chicks to frequent since the yacht club closed down a few years ago. They have 10 cent wing night (or used to when I was a student there), and while the wings are freaking tiny it's fun to order a bunch and pig out with dollar high life bottles. It gets really packed in here from about 11pm and on. Really small dance floor in the corner on the first floor, and there is a decent sized 2nd floor. I've had some good nights here, but this wouldn't be my first spot to choose when going...
