Michelli's Pizzeria — Restaurant in West Melbourne

I bought a large Specialty Vegetable pie that was priced at the top of what a Pizza should cost but with quality it would be worth it. This pizza was not worth it, as it was soggy and watery in center and impossible to eat as pizza should be eaten(with your hands). To add to the water logged center was that there was very little cheese, so it didn't even taste good on a fork. I suspect the canned stewed tomatoes with thier high water content was to blame (first for me on a Pizza) did they run out of their usual tomatoes ? The crust was very good and cooked properly but hard to bake a pizza properly under water saturated stewed tomatoes. Where's the cheese? Paid over $20 for a large vegetable pie, so not worth it.

Got a reply and was insulted that they corrected me to state that all their ingredients were fresh , nothing canned. Really, that's how you apologize and win back a potential customer is by correcting them? All fresh, nothing canned, I find that hard to believe. So tell me your pineapple is not canned? Your anchovies are not canned? Your black olives are not canned? Maybe artichokes and palmentos are not canned? Need I go on? Oh and the tomatoe sauce used in a majority of the items doesnt start in a can? I am sure your not picking up cases of tomatoes and cooking them down for six hours? So cut the BS, of course you have canned items and should as fresh pineapple is rarely better and I can not image your aging your own olives after importing them and then slicing each one? This is the first time i’ve ever left a review so i apologize if it’s not worded great. My family and i have been ordering here for years. But since the pandemic their food quality has gone down, along with their customer service. The owner is super nice but i can’t say the same thing about her staff. Every time we order (which hasn’t been many) this year (or even late 2021) they’ve messed up or forgotten something in someone’s meal that my family and i get. Many times they have delivered wings with absolutely NO hot sauce, and when called to politely tell them, they told me they were going to deliver me some hot sauce to put on said wings and they bring me marinara sauce. That’s just one time they have done something of the sorts. This used to be my favorite restaurant but it’s not worth spending the money when something is just going to be messed up after a wait time of 1-2 hours. Very disappointing. Tonight 3/25 we called to potentially order some food and give it another go, we called and got told the price but that was a smidge out of my price range so i told the man on the phone never mind. An hour and a half later some guy shows up at my door with the food telling us we were paying in cash because “that’s what he was told” when in reality the man i spoke to on the phone didn’t even give me the option for Cash or Card…. because i told him never mind. 3 months later my 2nd negative review. I tried to order for delivery last night after not ordering since my last review. (I only was going to order because the owner assured me this would not happen again). Guess what? It did, I called 10 minutes before 9pm and was told they were closed but their sign says they are open until 9pm and so does the website. Yep, true shame, I will never order again because obviously the employees rule the place and make the decisions on when they close and stay open, BAD for business. I only gave this a 1 star because I cant give a ZERO. never AGAIN. beware FUTURE Customers. Owner, change your open times to suit your employees, .trust me you will lose less customers. Who knows how many customers this happens to daily. Just saying!

Normally I really like this place, but now for the 3rd time in a row of me trying to order delivery (in a 3 month span) 20 minutes before close, twice was told they are not taking anymore deliveries and the other I did get a delivery but when I tried to order some fryer food and 10 minutes before close was told the fryer was already off and the guy who I was talking to was so distraught I was ordering delivery kept saying awe man awe man each time I ordered an item. Honestly, that mad me so mad I decided to keep on ordering more items, even though I didnt really need to keep ordering. I am just so appalled by this behavior I most definitely will never order from them again. Damn shame too, they have really good food but...
