I had a really interesting experience dining in at pizza hut yesterday, I wanted to share. It was my daughters birthday and she wanted to eat inside a Pizza Hut. There is a vibe that dine-in pizza hut offers so we were looking forward to that as well as skeptical since COVID times have changed alot of those type of experiences. The first interesting thing that happened was they only served bottled drinks (with few variety). The 20oz bottles were cold but if we wanted a 2 liter we would have to drink it warm because they did not have ice. I then wondered well how would we have drank the 2 liter since they apparently didn't have cups either? The 2nd interesting thing that happened was when I went to go pay with my credit card. The worker pulled a 2nd credit card machine from behind the counter for me to use. My thought was "well what's wrong with the one sitting on the counter??" I proceeded to swipe my card and got an error message that said "not supported". The worker walked away as if he was going to investigate something, came back about 30 seconds later and said they've been having a lot of outages and the credit card machine is down. It didn't occur to me until this morning but I'm seriously hoping that wasn't an attempt to scam. I asked if they took checks and the guy said "oh no! we don't take checks!" The birthday girl had some cash on her so we were able to pay that way. The worker gave us 20% off for the trouble which was nice. We sat down at a table and another worker brought us our boneless chicken wings without any dipping sauce. No big deal, I just asked for some. She said "that will be 95 cents." I said, "okay, that's fine but I'm pretty sure I already paid when I placed my order, I also asked for extra so I may have doubled paid." I didn't get a receipt so I actually have no idea how I was charged or what I was charged for...no big deal right; we're just trying to have a nice outing. The worker brought us the dipping sauce and then the rest of our food came out. The last interesting thing that happened was when we were done we had a lot of left overs so I went to the counter and asked for a to-go box. The worker said, "we're not allowed to give out to go boxes." I stood there for a moment because I couldn't tell if he was joking. I said, " I can't tell if you're joking or not?" He said "no, we're not allowed but I have these little boxes." I said, "thats fine I just need some sort of container to put the left over food in." I think what the worker meant was they couldn't use the typical pizza boxes that takeout or delivery goes in, they had very specific dine in take out boxes, which I didn't care I just needed a container. Still interesting, since the pizza cost the same whether you dine in or take out... The worker also gave us the standard pizza boxes which was nice and easier to pack our left overs in. The workers were kind. Just a weird series of events. I wasn't sure if they didn't really want us there or maybe dine-in is so uncommon they just forgot how to provide that type of service? The credit card situation makes me uncomfortable though so I am canceling my...
Read moreWhat can I say...I have been coming to this pizza hut since childhood and I know like everything in life, unfortunately, time changes things and not always for the best. The quality of the food has dropped significantly. We chose to drive to pizza hut and dine-in because it usually tastes better, fresher, hotter. We arrived at the front desk and right from the start were ignored for 5 minutes straight. A woman employee walked past us numerous times and never could say, "we will be with you in a moment". I don't understand where, why, or when customer curiosity disappeared, but it is everywhere. Like we are such a burden on employees to be at their workplace. Do they not understand if we were not patronizing their establishment they wouldn't have this job? I digress, after sitting down and waiting for our pizza and breadstick and after tipping over 20% for making an order at a counter, our food was brought to the table, by a different employee. We asked politely for plates and silverware and without even turning around and walking away he said they are behind the cooler. How would anyone know that? And why wouldn't that just be stated nicely after placing food on our table. We unfortunately are done ever going there. Its probably been 35 years of going to this establishment, but the customer care and the food (which tasted just as good as the service) has now put a sour taste...
Read moreSo we tried to go to Pizza Hut in West Mifflin, when the man behind the counter said we don’t wait on people, you order at the counter, here’s the menu or there’s paper menu’s, and drinks in cooler behind you. That we have to sit on the right side of the dining area, oh and cash only no debit/credit card. There were no signs posted on the door to the establishment stating otherwise. They did have a credit card sign on the door. Needless to say we walked out and didn’t order, went to Applebee’s instead. First things first, I worked in fast food when I was a teenager at KFC. It’s not hard work and I got paid a lot less, mine you that was 35 years ago. I would’ve been fired for that kind of attitude. Not sure if he was the manager or not. He was very unprofessional and didn’t speak clearly, like he had chew in his mouth or something. Since Covid, these places won’t go back to normal and the workers are soft. Do better Pizza Hut. Won’t...
